My buddy found this in his driveway after horsing around on his 2017 RT. Looks like some sort of dust cover to me...but heck I don't know. It's hollow, has a pin hole in the top of it, is about 1.5" around. Thoughts? :bowdown:

Is it the inner cover for the front wheel bearing assembly?
No. That's PN 705401883.
Kind of looks like the air filter cover/cap, but not sure. Owners manual shows you what panels on the left side to remove in order to get to the filter. If is is the cap, might as well pull the filter, inspect the filter housing, clean if necessary, and replace the filter. I replaced my stock filter with a K&N filter. Better performance, and it never needs changing, just a cleaning and re-oiling. Very easy job, about an hour.
I'm thinking it's the cover of the flux capacitor, and its job is to make sure that it's, um, "fluxing" ....
Muffler bearing cover. Comes off all the time...
Those mufflers sure do put a stress on those bearings while under load and the next thing you know ... Oh :cus: the damn thing goes flying off and impales your cousin that is screaming Hey y'all watch this!.

Mystery solved..... the knucklehead used his pressure washer to wash the bike, and this stupid thing is the soap tank cap for the pressure washer.... So those who guessed flux capacitor and muffler bearing, you were damn close....Lol
:roflblack::roflblack:
Crap. I was sure it was the cap for the headlight fluid reservoir.
I use this pressure washer on my RS, you can even wash your dog with it!
