Or if the shock has failed due to age etc. … years ago I wanted my seat to open more so I got rid of the Gas Shock and re-placed it with a shaped steel rod.... Got to my bio page and then to my Albums ….pics with explanations are posted …… Mike :ohyea:
Great idea Mike! I added the utopia backrest and a full seat sheepskin cover on my RT however the BRP strut now can’t handle the extra weight. So It operates like a hood support being attached at one end and the other end goes into the hole you drilled in the seat pan right? Does it rattle when the seat is closed? Thanks for the idea.
It isn't a tight fit so I imagine it can ….. but I have never heard mine, while driving …. and there is no evidence on the paint that it is moving around.... If you are still concerned, use a small rubber band and many wraps around the rod , it will act as a cushion …..I hadn't thought about this fix :roflblack: until you brought up the possibility ..thanks :clap: … I'm going to add this tonight …... Try a Suspa C16-20651. It is a 40lb. strut shock and is 2 inches longer. Got mine on Amazon. Works great.

Get a stiff enough spring: and you've got an ejector seat! :roflblack:
