There's tons of them. Just Google up "touch screen motorcycle gloves" and you'll find them.

The Spyder Touch screen only works with "touch screen" gloves and when stopped. When moving you have to use the handlebar controls.

I've figured out how to turn the radio on and off.

Long press the Ride Settings button (the bottom button on the Media Controls Switch on the left handlebar). The radio should stop, and the power button will reappear in the upper right corner of the screen. To resume the radio, either press the power button, or long press the Ride Settings button again.

I hoped that shutting the radio off would make the Media applet work again, but no such luck.

I just wanted to let everyone know I tried this technique to turn on and off the radio, and it worked.
It would have been nice if BRP could have told us this, how to turn on and off the radio.
And as AMKRAT said, and I tested it out myself - the media applet still doesn't work.
Great job AMKRAT for finding this out.

Yes I tried it and it works, did you find it in the owners manual.

I checked the owners manual for how to set up the radio, and the manual did not show how to turn on or off the radio, or how to use it, (scan stations, change stations, preset stations or select preset stations.)

Yep, it is seriously lacking! It's like a 3rd grader's attempt to build something, and it still has erroneous info relating to other models that used to offer sport mode. But you can still use BT to play media from your phone, no matter what type. If you are using a headset, you will need to direct the output to it. And of course, the headset should be paired to the bike and NOT to the phone; be careful about the order you connect them....

BRP needs to develop and publish a detailed owner's manual on how to use everything related to the 10.25 screen. The current owners manual only points out what is there, not how to use anything. They need to take a look at Harley Davidson's Infotainment users manual. My TriGlide was loaded with all these same features and the manual answered all my questions.

    Yeah, right!

I can just see all the BRP Execs reading this and then

They really don't 'NEED' to do anything, cos they are making and selling a product that people are still buying!

While ever 'those people' or in fact 'any people' continue to THINK that BRP 'NEEDS' to do anything, despite the fact that many of those said people have already purchased a new Spyder and are only now complaining and telling BRP what they 'NEED' to do instead of doing that 'purchase then complain/tell them what they need to do' thing the other way round entirely, then I reckon those people are gonna continue to be sadly disappointed, cos they are basically just - and doing it AFTER they've given a wad of their hard earned $$ to BRP/Can Am at that!!

BRP doesn't NEED to do anything until it's clear that they are losing sales; and losing enough sales to impact their bottom line at that!!
So unless WE STOP BUYING, and start telling &/or showing them the reason that we're NOT buying is the lack of a working ACP interface or whatever the Android version is; &/or the lack of a useful Owner's Manual; &/or whatever else it is that grinds your gears, then they aren't really going to change all that much!
Why would they?? They're making money as it is, keeping their shareholders happy with their ROI, and they know that changing anything will cost more, and that WILL impact their bottom line - so I reckon that until there's a clear indication that ACP/Android not working &/or the lack of a decent &/or useful Owner's Manual is costing them substantial sales, then they really aren't all that likely to change schmick, are they!!

I've already voted in this game, and do it again every time I visit a Can Am outlet, cos I've seen neither a 'good enough' or 'exciting enough' Spyder to tempt me to fork out more of MY hard earned $$ since I purchased my 2013 RT back in 2013, nor one that's running on anything but Kendas, so I haven't helped perpetuate this lack of concern for the 'need to change anything' since 2013 - have you?!

So really, exactly WHO is it that NEEDS to do something?? Cos it clearly ISN'T BRP!

Thank you Peter! This is what I have been saying! Stop giving BRP your money! When they see a change in the bottom line, something may get done. Save your money and make it count! Tom

I had every intention of getting a new S2S, but with all the "issues" on the new Spyders, I just continue riding my 2015 RT. I keep hoping Honda will come out with a reverse trike based on the Goldwing.

This is a legit and logical point. However, since this thread is primarily participated in by (and likely intended for) people who have already given BRP their money, repeatedly telling them not to give BRP their money is moot.

I get that it may be annoying for people who are not experiencing these issues firsthand to read, but there’s an easy solution to that. I think we can all agree that it is legit frustrating to have one’s reasonable expectations not be met. If folks can’t share their experiences here to help each other, try to get issues resolved collectively, and yeah, even commiserate about their disappointment in BRP, where can they?

Well, there is something we can do about the Owners Manual. We can create PDF's to cover the issues regarding the How To things that Can Am doesn't cover. Such as the 20-23 screens or the 2024 screens... PDF's are straight forward to make, even including pics.

Or how to replace the crappy seat struts on the < 20's or the worse struts on the >20's; or lots of other things that people on this great Forum know are the real issues and fixes. Thing is the info is not really so easy to find on here.

The way I look at it, that is a way the community is serving itself. But 2 things... someone has to dig out the info; and someone/committee has to create and edit the PDF.

The other alternative is to create a WIKI that anyone can edit and contribute too.

So, who is willing to donate their time and energy?

You are correct that "Printing" a PDF file is easy, but you are also correct that creating and editing the information in the PDF is what takes all the effort.

And once it's created, people will ask for updates for a specific year/model, or argue that steps were glossed over or missed, and who will decide if the new information or edits should be included?

And vBulletin, which is what spyderlovers.com uses, does have a Wiki function available for it. But the spyderlovers.com owners would have to decide whether to add it, and how to manage it.

A week ago, I got this response from BRP customer service:

Rest assured, BRP is actively collaborating with Apple to address this issue. However, as of now, there is no specific timeline for when the fix will be available. I appreciate your patience as we work on resolving this matter.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

It's just before 3 am here, and I found myself awake and unable to get back to sleep.

I connected my Spyder to my wifi network last night, but there were no updates available. I was able to download an update awhile back, so I know the wifi download works with my network.

After seeing the response @trikesister received I went to the CAN-AM website and used the "contact our specialists" link and filled out the form and submitted it, asking when CAN-AM was going to get their act together, and actually deliver on what they advertised.

The printed and PDF copies of the Operator's Guide for my Spyder has information about how to access Apple Carplay, and even the CAN-AM website as of a few minutes ago has information about Apple CAR-PLAY, and pictures of it working on the 10.25" display.

The most frustrating thing to me is that I also own a 2023 Honda Ridgeline Sport. From the day I purchased my Ridgeline I have been able to plug my iPhone into the USB port below the 8" touch screen in the center of the dash, and use the Apple Carplay Navigation functions through the touch screen.

I realize Honda is a much bigger company than BRP (US $91 billion annual revenue vs about US $10 billion for BRP), but how many billions of dollars does it take to develop support for Carplay? I took a quick look at the Apple website and found a list of all of the car companies that support Carplay. All the big US manufacturers, of course, but there are companies listed that I've never heard of:

This is starting to get discouraging about how BRP is treating customers.
I know I read in some threads that we should stop buying from BRP, well that all good and well, but what about the people that have already purchased a 2024 spyder like me?
And what else would we purchase for a reverse tricycle?

My 2018 was a Spyder that had a new cluster design from the previous year, and it didn't see anything like this. BRP Go was flaky, but it did work.
That's why I thought they had their act together.
As for updates, still nothing, I gave up checking every day, but I am still testing to see what faults I can find, and to see how the update will fix them, or change them.
I found out how to turn on and off the radio, and its oddities. But I'm wondering, will all this change when the update comes out?
I still can't listen to music from my iPhone.

Well, at least they are prompt. I received an email response this morning at 7:25 am, about four hours after I posted my complaint.

They thanked me for contacting them, and said:

"I deeply apologize for the inconvenience being the Apple CarPlay is still not available, an important feature many customers are still waiting on. I wanted to let you know that over the last couple of months, the Apple CarPlay was available for a few dealerships to test its functionality, but later it was found that there was a bug in the update, and they again had to fix the update, which made this delay so long. I can assure you that the appropriate team is working tirelessly as much as they can to have the update as soon as possible, but I am afraid I can't confirm on an exact date it will be released as we have no ETA.

I kindly advise you to keep in touch with your dealership, <DeletedMyDealerName>, and they will let you know directly as soon as the update is available. We deeply appreciate your patience in this whole process, and we apologize once again for any inconveniences it may cause."

And of course the standard information about contacting them if I have more questions, blah, blah, blah.

    So no update.

    Interesting, but...

"Fits All GL 1800 Year Models: 2001-2010, 2012-2017"

So first you have to find an old Goldwing.

Cycletrader.com found two 2012-2017 GL 1800s, but one of them is already a Goldwing trike, so only one found.
It's red, has 33,000 miles on it, and they are asking US $13,000.

And it appears that the $9,495 for the kit doesn't include installation on your Goldwing, or shipping of the kit to whoever is doing the install.

Did I mention that I like my Spyder.
