I tend to agree. It's an internet forum, for petes sake. If one takes offense, don't read it, or grow a thicker skin. After all, what offends Billy may be useful to Jack. Roger may find Barry's comments humorous, while Freddie thinks theyare stupid. Me, I read what I want and ignore the rest. If someone attempts to make me cry, I move on with no offense taken from someone I don't even know.

All of this political correctness bullshoot is making sissies of us all. For the health of our country, this has to stop.

All I can say is, we are all aduts, so let's all grow up and act like it.

I agree. Every time this subject comes up, I'm baffled by it because I just don't see the problem. Everybody's different. Some folks are "kinder" than others. That's just the way life is. I would certainly agree that "threatening" posts have no place here, but I don't believe I've ever really read one of those.

I've learned a lot here, and I truly enjoy this forum. I'm generally not offended by what anyone says. But I guess the posts that simply annoying me the most, are those posts that complain about what other folks have said.

As for the "friendly banter", and even what some folks call "mindless commenting", I probably engage in that less then some others , but I do enjoy reading it. I think it often makes the forum more interesting.

I left before when I saw Veteran members treating NewComers "Rude and Crude?"
Not all New members have been on Forums most of their adult days like some here and We Need to treat them Civil and Lead them to Search Methods or Post a link to help them. I remember several new members who were treated "Rude and Crude" that Never Posted again. That's Unfortunate?

Maybe I'm kind of thick skinned but I have never seen any bullying on this forum as attempted on other forums. I have been around long enough that I can handle my own problems if I feel bullied or such. I come here for information and community with other Spyder Riders. Great Forum.

Okay... I've had my fair share of disagreements in here over the years. Not surprising, when you figure that I've got an opinion about almost everything.
I'm far from innocent in all of the "cookouts" that I've been to; but I've learned some valuable things:
    1. If someone points out that I'm wrong about something factual; I'll own up to my mistake.
    2. If an opinion that I've expressed is based upon a false assumption; I feel that it's fair to admit that, and learn for the experience.
    3. Arguing about opinions and beliefs, is a HUGE waste of time and effort. You won't change anyone else's mind, and they're sure not going to change yours. Simply agree to disagree, and move on.
    4. I'm trying to follow a simpler philosophy now...

    So far; so good!

A BIG +1!!! I've learned a whale of a lot about Spyders from this forum and think a lot of us would be SOL without it and at the mercy of whomever we have to deal with in solving problems or getting answers that aren't answered in the operators' guides.

I am posting on this thread just to let everyone know ................................. I have not been banned (yet).

And i do not think that you could bully me, i have an "IGNORE BUTTON" at my disposal.

But there are some people on here that could feel like they are being bullied so i will agree with Lamont on the need for better monitoring.

As far as serial posters ......................... Hey if you don't like reading their rhetoric ................... Ignore Them, personally i enjoy the useless banter on most occasions.

thanks Lamont it is a bit of a problem on here I have rode for 50 years now and I have a lot of experience and I knowledge to share but my words don't alway come across right , I loved this site in the beginning for all the great info like the correct spring to fix the frunk all the hand brakes that people built and so on now when I try to add to the descussion many times I get pounded on by a few that feel that this is there site I is frustrating but o well so I don't say anything So I am glad you brought this up as I don't post just to see myself post I only try to add if it's something I have first hand knowledge of

It's way below! People who stereotype are... usually correct.

And no, it's NOT on the RT boards. At least I don't see it there. We old folks usually have the wisdom and the patience to get along with each other. We only get crotchety when some know-it-all young'n tries to tell us what to do.

Well this thread has been interesting to say the least. There is some truth to what Lamont is trying to express but on the other hand he is threatening to ban people from this site for "Bullying. Isn't this a form of bullying?
I have seen maybe a half dozen post's that were downright abusive and did not belong here. When it comes to sensitivity there are approximately 15,000 different levels on this forum. Some are highly sensitive, some have little or no sensitivity.
With words, no one can "hurt" you unless YOU yourself allow them to. Thus individual sensitivity. Too much sensitivity does not allow one to express himself or leads to the extreme of hateful lashing out.
I always try to add a little humor as do others on this forum to keep it fun and interesting. If it weren't for the serial posters and the different personalities this would be a very boring site and perhaps a lot smaller and less visited site.
I certainly understand Lamont's point of view and responsibility but the fun and bantering is what makes this site interesting.
When you sign on to a site remember not everyone reading or posting will have the same sensitivity as you. On the other hand if you post only what you think everyone wants to hear and not what you feel are you truly being yourself and expressing an opinion? I want to hear what you really think with some restraint not to outright target another personality. I do enjoy the different personalities on here including the good, the bad, and yes even the ugly!

I've been staying out of this until now. So I'll say some of the same things as others:

I haven't noticed any bullying. But if someone feels they're being bullied, it should stop. I hope whoever is the culprit will learn a lesson and be able to come back soon.

I hope if I've offended anyone, they'll let me know directly and I'll apologize.

I love this forum and want others to enjoy it as much as I do.

It's Lamont's ball and he sets the rules. He can kick anyone out of the game he wants.
