Attaching Velcro tape to a dash
I bought a dash pouch to install on the dash of my RT. I read the directions - but I also read reviews in which people mentioned that the pouch blew off at higher speeds. The hook and loop has tape that is to be stuck to the dash to hold the pouch on. Anyone have experience with keeping these pouches stuck to the dash?

You just have to be careful when using a tape on the plastic body parts.
You have to remove any trace of oil, wax or armor-all from the plastic first, and then stick the tape on the plastic.
It might even be best to let the tape cure for an hour before installing the pouch.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

3M makes an Automotive Adhesion promoter 06396 for plastic trim attachment with 3M Acrylic foam tapes that you can use to clean the Tupperware part to which you are going to attach the velcro tape. You can purchase it at auto parts stores. I DO NOT know what it would do to the paint finish, if anything on the Tupperware. You could test on an inconspicuous spot, like the underside of the frunk lid.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

I have the 3 pouch that I cleaned and preped the plastic, added industrial strength velcro....still wanted to blow loose at freeway speeds...when I put new windshield on fixed it by putting three black screws and washers into dash. No big deal, if I ever remove them I'll just by 3 automobile push pins in black and stick them in the holes. Been doing that for years and no one knows they aren't factory. Safe riding!

I did all these things to clean my dash before adding the 3 pouches. They stuck well until the had baked in the Utah sun for a month then the back half, the part that faces the windshield began to come loose in the wind at freeway speed. And when I tried to take the pouches off the Velcro pads on the dash came with them. I next glued them on with black silicone. That worked very well, but if you decide to remove them then you have silicone residue on your dash. The toothed surface of the upper dash makes it very hard to dig the silicone off. I have some snaps that I bought in the sewing dept at Walmart that I was going to use,but I wasn't very good at attaching those,so I think I am going to go the black trim screw route,if I decide to put them back on.

It's all about the surface prep, and using the best possible adhesives...
Personally speaking: I don't trust Velcro for holding much more than the rain flap on my riding jacket closed...

I have them on my 2012 and 2014. I used LOTS of 3m. I can do 80-85 no problem. I put on new 3m every other year.

I used isopropyl alcohol to clean dash board, let dry, used Velcro tape on dash that came with the pouch( and attached to back side of pouch) then I used gorilla double sided mounting tape on dashboard, and back side of pouch in different places.
My pouch has not moved. See picture:Pictures of Newest Farkles on 2014RTS-SE6 004.jpg this is behind the windshield on dashboard on a 2014 RTS-SE6. I use the pouch a lot.
At a high rate of speed, I have no problems, I have not lost the pouch.

I cut the two side pouches off, added extra velcro all around, and it still blew off at higher speeds. I caught it as it came off and put it inside the back trunk when I stopped. I liked having it there, but won't try it again. That was the third time it came loose.

I use it, I have no problems, even @ a high rate of speed.
I have not lost my pouch. I have had the pouch on 2 months.

Attaching a Pouch by Velcro
Attached a Hopnel single pouch three years ago and am having no problems whatsoever. Just ensure the area is clean and dry and you should be Okay. Good Luck

Making it way to hard.....
If you want to install adhesive backed velcro on your dash or other place
simply go get some good old Isopropyl Alcohol, some call it rubbing alcohol
put some on a rag and wipe the area you want to put the velcor, clean it
of all the dirt and other stuff there such as Armorall, it will not damage the paint
or hurt the plastic, them just stick it on.
Now to Velcro, there is Velcro and then there is Velcro, the stuff they sell at the
fabric store is not good will not hold. Go to your friendly neighborhood automotive
upholstery shop and I bet they will just give you some... I buy it in large rools
and just cut off the amount I need but BE SURE to get the kind that is 2 inches wide
it will grip much better.
