Front and eventually rear camera on Ryker
Today I started installing a front and eventually rear view camera kit on my Ryker.
I went with the Blueskysea DV688.
The small monitor I secured by a 1/4"x20 screw mounted through the aluminum handlebar lock.
I had a piece of 6mm threaded rod laying around, cut it to size, put a notch on the one end so I could screw it in with a screwdriver.
I screwed it into the top threaded steering mount spots that are meant for a windshield.
I added a little red thread lock to both ends and it made a nice round support to put a spring on, which is all hidden inside.
Then I was able to pull the spring down and connect it to the front camera.
Fits like a glove in the front and it doesn't look out of place or visually unbalanced looking from the front or sides.
Very sturdy and secure.
Just waiting for the Maxmount and rear fender to arrive so I can get the rear camera installed.
It's nice having a rear, recorded view of what's is going on behind you at all times even though your not
always looking back.

That looks like a great alternative and easy hook up. If only it would record in case of an accident.

Backup and rearview camera
Here's what I used: https://www.tadibrothers.com/product...-backup-system
I just use it to see what's behind when I backup (I have a trike with reverse) and while I'm riding I can see what's behind me also. You can get a recorder for it also. Not sure about having the forward view.

Hey Hartster,
I have decided that I want some rear vision on the ryker and I wanted to see how you're liking the DV688.
Cheers.

I do like the fact that it is recording both front and rear views just in case of an accident but I will say I rely on my mirrors more.
The rear view on the LCD screen seems to view the image a lot farther away than what is really behind you and the sun seems to
get in the way of actually viewing the LCD. Love having the feeling of knowing I'm protected in case of an accident but the LCD screen
isn't as much use as I would have hoped it to be. Your probably better off hiding it somewhere, if you have the space.
