Default Dodgy posts from long term member - spammer or hacked account?

Edit: Below was snowyowls first post, and at that stage it looked legit... But now it looks like it's been hacked, see next post!

Edit 2 more of them - note the link in their sig lines also...

Hey it sucks but if you go to your dealer they will replace for free and may even give you a oil change for the trouble. I've had problem of this kind of badluck happen to me with other accessories and BRP replaced it without any problem free of charge.

Thanks Pete, but the whole Mod Team's been on this particular case!

However, if everyone out there wants to see this Forum continue without being drowned in this crap, you ALL can and should help - if you see ANYTHING like this - any dodgy posts, any suspect links, anything untoward in sig lines or anywhere on any user's profile, then PLEASE REPORT IT!

Just hit the little Exclamation Mark in a triangle ( ! ) that's down in the bottom left of the offending post; add some text about what you think is wrong; and then submit the report! That way, every Mod/Admin here will get to see it ASAP and whoever is closest will be able to do something straight away!

We really need everyone's help to keep this sorta crap off our site and to avoid it bogging us down in rubbish like this! Thank you all!!

Just curious, based on the join dates of the accounts that were addressed, it appears the hacker did get in and started grabbing profiles of existing members.

Was the root cause determined and addressed or is the hacker still permeating even more legit users accounts?

Still investigating, which is why we're asking everyone to be on the lookout for dodgy posts.

Actually, you could check posts from “Peter Aawen” . Some of them appear to be decidedly dodgy.

All my 4+ wheeled vehicles have had Roo bars - I don't avoid roos, that's dangerous, could kill you, and maybe take out a car-load of innocent kids too!!

But back when I first started driving big rigs & road trains in the bush waaaay back as a young fella (gol-lee, that was a long time ago now... ) pretty much the only instruction stressed as being 'critical' to keeping one of those things on the 'road' (which was just a 12 foot wide strip of crappy & disintegrating pot-holed bitumen with a chain wide strip of gibber covered cleared bush on either side stretching all the way from the Alice to Darwin!) with the metal bits up and the rubber bits down was - and I'll quote, pretty much word for word:

"DO NOT try to avoid hitting anything - not roos, not emus, not cars, not Kombi's, not even camels or wombats! The ONLY thing you really gotta avoid hitting is those bloody BUFFALO, d'ya hear?!?!"

I can still see his face & hear his voice as he drove that point home!! And it wasn't too long before I saw the aftermath of someone else NOT avoiding hitting a buffalo on the road; so to this day, I still try my damndest to avoid hitting those beasts!

Along with what Peter has written, those bloody Roos are impossible to dodge anyway, whether you want to or not, Ron. They have such a long horizontal leap (much like your deer) that one second they are hidden in the bush and the next second they are a foot in front of you. The only solution is a roo bar to minimise damage (to your vehicle, not the roo ). As for our buffalo, they are very much like your Bison…..many bigger than your car. Avoid at all costs. Fortunately, only those travelling way, way out in the outback come across them. I have never seen one in the bush.
