• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pulling a trailer with a GS?

I know I have seen this discussed before, but for the life of me, I can't find the thread. Is there any problems pulling the Can Am trailer with the GS?

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

Just as a note, I have to drive about 1/2 mile on a gravel road to get to the main road. I did order the belt guard, and in the past year of driving on the gravel, I have had no problems. I would recommend you keep it slow though.

Where are all the Spyders at?

I had a 150cc scooter that I rode before I got the Spyder. Loved it, and it was fun as heck. I will probably get another one someday. Spyderfest sounds like a blast! Too far for me, but I am going to the owners event!

Update on my spyder and its condition. The best 32000 I have spent now......

Wow, I didn't realize you were the same person from the original thread. I wasn't expecting a happy ending at all! :) Glad you got everything sorted out, now go ride!!!!!! :ohyea:

    Potential buyer with questions

Regarding rain. One of the benefits of the Spyder over the 2 wheeler I sold to fund it, is that I love riding in the rain. People think I am crazy, but with my Frogg Toggs, I really don't get wet, and with Rain-X or wax on my visor, vision really isn't a problem. I was caught in a downpour...

    Gear Number Not staying

Mine was doing that, as well as showing E. I unplugged and cleaned the gear sensor contacts, and everything is fine. I have read that there are some faulty ones out there though.

Where are all the Spyders at?

Just got back from a trip from WV to Orlando, and only saw one Spyder the entire week we were gone. I figured I'd see a bit more than that. I was talking to my local dealer before we left, and he said they sell around 20 or so Spyders per year. I have no idea where those are at, as Beckley...

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

Very good points there. One of the things I was taught in the MSF course was if you need to panic brake in a turn, to straighten the bike first. It's a good idea in theory, and in the parking lot it was easy. In reality, if it is a panic stop, I don't think you have time to do anything but...

    LED's installed on sides

I used cool, because I like the slightly blue tint. BUT, the warm glow of the fender lights really clashes with it. May replace those bulbs with LEDs so it matches better.

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

Wow, didn't expect this many replies! :) I realize you cannot talk to some people. I've been on different forums since the early '90s when all I had was my local ACE's BBS. I was just more curious myself. Like everyone else here, people always ask how it handles the curves. I was talking...

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

So I was watching a discussion at another site on the Elio reverse trike car thingy. Somehow the discussion moved towards the Spyder, with one guy stating he wouldn't be caught dead on a Spyder. The only reason he would consider one is when he got too old to hold up 2 wheels. No way he would...

    LED's installed on sides

I used those same lights on mine as brake light strips. Very cheap, and easy to wire up. Also used some of the white in the front.

Installing a 12v outlet in the dash

Yeah, I know. Not thrilled about drilling into the console, but I currently have it mounted to the handlebars, and it looks crappy.

Installing a 12v outlet in the dash

This weekend, I pulled the frunk and found the 12v tap. Ran some wires up to the handlebars, and would like to install my 12v outlet in the console, like in this post: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?26462-12-volt-adapter&p=297402&viewfull=1#post297402 I have had the cluster...

Tell your story. What was the moment you knew you had to have a Spyder?

Hmmm....well I had always liked them, but told myself there was no way I would pay that much for one. Had a Suzuki C50 that I loved, but had a couple scary moments on road gravel including a slow speed drop at a railroad crossing. I also did not like to ride it in the rain, period. I started...

Any other saddlebag options besides the Givi set?

I looked up the Kappa's, they look very nice! Gonna do some more research on those for sure. I did run across some Coleman soft bags @ my local WallyWorld. For $50, they aren't bad. Downside is the stupid Paul Jr. Designs logo....but that will be gone soon...

    Evap. canister vent.

That's the way I did mine. I did get the recall notice, so it may not be a bad idea to have my dealer look at it, otherwise, I suppose it will show up in BUDS as not being done.

    Spyder Owners Event 2013

No, just the owners event. The farthest we have ridden was about 2 hours from home, so the 4 hours to the event should be another step to one day going across the country!
