• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HELP! I threaded the transmission hex bolt! Will JB Weld help get it out?? What else might work?

No genius, an idiot. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. 👎 The brake linkage bolt below that drain plug needs to be removed and replaced in the opposite direction, thereby giving clear access to the drain plug. I have found that the plug is very tight from the factory...

Do you change the way you ride with a trailer attached? For safety??

Posting for a friend who has a 2022 Sea to Sky with a BRP tow hitch. 3 days out on a cross-country ride for a month towing his small Elite camper trailer, one arm of the trailer's A frame broke due to constant road shock from the unsprung hitch which BRP sells. Big trouble, inconvenience...

2008 SM5 Hard shifting when warm - any ideas?

Have you checked the clutch fluid level? Has the fluid been flushed in recent years? Have you tried doing clutchless up shifting when it's hot to compare with using the clutch at every up shift? If not try it and compare results/performance and report back.

About to replace the Fuel filter on my 2021 RT - what is the best type of hose clamp, and what sizes are needed?

...... you can use worm-drive hose clamps ..... if desperate but they are not recommended as they cut into the rubber, whereas proper EFI rated hose clamps do not. The pic below shows 1 worm drive clamp and a few EFI hose clamps. The difference is obvious.

What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

Fit a 2" valve stem and ensure the drive pulley is clocked so as not to hide it.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

It's not the ACCC that handles such issues. From my (limited) experience in dealing with DITRDC&A, they have no idea about failures or safety. They rely solely on what the manufacturer tells them. They told me it is the manufacturer alone who decides whether a recall is issued. DITRDC&A...

G'day from Down Under - what to look for in a high milage Spyder?

I have a 2009 GS SM5 since new, done 105,000km and goes as well as Peter says. I had a couple of issues with it in the early days when in warranty but nothing since. Plug leads were a weak point on the early ones. Just curious how an SM5 would suit an amputee?

Is there a non-OEM Fuel Filter alternative for an F3?

I wonder if that would be fine enough to catch all the crud. Paper is probably finer. The larger Z200 will hold much more, plus cleanable filters are false economy in my opinion.

Is there a non-OEM Fuel Filter alternative for an F3?

Looks about the same size as the stock filter, but if it's easy to access.....

Is this the VSS not working? Anyone experienced it before? What came of it?

I had the pillion seat off yesdy while replacing the fuel filter and saw nothing odd. This is the first I've seen or read of splash guard scraping. On my GS, Nanny is always lurking ready to pounce even without a pillion. Perhaps she is much less sensitive on the F3. I'll tell the owner...
