• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Russell Daylong saddle installed

I put on a new saddle yesterday. We had ten inches of snow on Sunday/Monday. Wasn’t sure I would get a chance to ride. It was 34 degrees this am but got up to 52 degrees. I dressed warm and headed out around 8am. The seat is very firm. Firmer than I would have liked. I had discussed tail bone pain with them before fabrication. The first fifty miles I definitely had my concerns. I was able to get in about 250 miles. It definitely got better but is still painful. I was using an Airhawk on the stock seat, and while that was ok, I feel like I have less pain after 250 miles with the Daylong seat, but I am still in the break in period. Hopefully it gets better. I will say the “tractor” style seat definitely holds your entire butt. I had good luck with the Rush Cycle Pedic on my last two HD two wheelers, but they don’t make anything for the Spyder. Daylong will make adjustments but the shipping is approx $150 per round trip for said adjustment. 😮

Picture of the heated (nice this am) leather saddle. They definitely do high quality work.

I can confirm the seat does indeed need to break in and conform to your butt. Give it time. The cold weather will make the break in take even longer. The RDL became the best saddle I have ever used on a bike and will not go with anything else. Now have it on on my new 2024.

Love my RDL saddle! It's definitely gotten even better with seat time.
I’m up to 350 miles and it’s definitely better. Thanks

Been using the seat heat for faster break in hahahahaha

Very nice! I sat on one of those at Maggie Valley and I know of another friend who has one on his Spyder, he had two previous RDL seats on his ADV bikes. I know he said it gets more comfortable with more riding. Good for you getting out there after snow. I'm hoping for a ride tomorrow as our snow is melted and it will be 45 degrees.

I've notice the comfort on mine changes when I'm not wearing padded shorts. Also after I lowered the footpegs, more break in had to happen for maximum comfort.

My max so far has been 650 miles in a day, but 200-400 is the norm.

I’m up to 460 miles. Definitely an improvement and I can see why people rave about them. Still some tailbone and sit bone pain (mainly the right sit bone) but it’s definitely better. Try to toss on another 200 tomorrow, but I have to take the wife to the Dr. This time of year I like to be home before 4pm as it gets dark so early and the deer by us are active.
