• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

Part of finishing up my cross country tour in June took me through Maine. For the entire time that I was there, people continued to tell us to look out for moose. We traveled a lot of 2 lane roads, and never saw one. Glad one didn't run out in the road in front of us, but I was a little...

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

It's supposed to be super hot here again next week. So I took the F3L Special Series for about a 25 mile jog around the neighborhood. I noticed that even though it’s a 2016, it has 5k miles fewer than my 2021 RTL (19k vs 24k).

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

I did nothing this while week on the spyder or the K1600B. I am hoping to get some riding on the spyders this weekend. We have early (8am) church service this sunday. So it seems like the perfect time to ride to church and then continue on and log on some miles.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

I let both my Spyders take the week off. Rode the BMW K1600 B to Bowling Green, Ky to ride with some old friends. One of my buddies did ride along with me on his 2020 RTL and another on his Harley RG3. Did a total of 1776 miles. The bike handled things well, but I will say the seat is better on...

August 17th 6:30 PM ET for BRP Can Am and Sea Doo 2027 lineup event

At least I wasn't disappointed, since I didn't expect much of a change anyway. Nothing there to even tempt me to consider a new one. Just makes me more satisfied with my 2021 RTL and 2016 F3L. I can't really say too much though. BMW teased the K1600 community with an 1800cc straight 6 to only...

August 17th 6:30 PM ET for BRP Can Am and Sea Doo 2027 lineup event

You missed the ai photo that I saw with the rocket boosters in place of the saddle bags on a SS model. I can only dream of them really making any substantial changes. But my thoughts are just different colors. Although it is really time for a F3 series refresh.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

Saw lots of videos of people caught in that hail storm online. Didn't look to be too much fun. Glad you were able to miss it. As I tell all my friends, when traveling, I have one phone for navigation and one with the weather radar pulled up. The radar one dictates my travels when necessary...

FS: 2016 Can Am trailer RT

That's a smoking deal. Those sell used for $2000-2500 all day long. Good luck with your sale.

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

Yep, I have a certified BMW mechanic who works independently. But he actually does all the maintenance on the Hwy Patrol, Sheriff, and Police Departments here in the area of NC. He is the most knowledgeable person I have ever come across on these. Without him, I doubt I would own a BMW. My next...

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

Letting the Spyder take a break for a couple of weeks. Got a trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky coming up 8/20-23. Taking the BMW as a practice run for my trip out West next May. Funny thing is that I took the K1600 in for an oil change, filter, rear end gear oil, had the brakes checked, fluids...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

His milage is beyond the recall limits. I think he has around 50k miles. Right now the biggest concern is actually getting the bike transported back to NC. We have been checking very often and the prices and bids are crazy. Most are between $1500-$2000. We got one bid of $820, but it was a...

Wondering about replacing my '21 Spyder with a '26 (or '27) - any thoughts on the newer Spyders being different or better enough to justify the spend?

Besides the bigger screen, reverse procedure, and cruise control thing, I don't see a lot of difference. With that being said, I would not trade my 2021 RTL for the addition of those features. But what I do like is that the bad things on the earlier models were largely fixed. Things such as...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

I was talking to KK today. I have put in another request for a quote for shipping. The way it seems most of them work is that you request the locations and they come up with some ungodly price. Then they email you back with lower and lower prices as it goes out for bid. I spoke with him and we...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

This is the same guy that I was searching for a couple of weeks ago. I did a search of options for shipping and renting a u-haul and they were super high. The shipping option was probably the cheapest, but the prices of around $800 that people were getting were not to be found. I will be...

Is it worth swapping my Ryker Sport for a Spyder RT 2019 - Now Done!

If you ride 2 up, your passenger will be forever grateful and in your debt for swapping to an RT. There is no comparing the comfort of riding on the rear of a pre-2020 RT series bike. Even the 2020 and up RT bikes are not as accomidating according to my wife and many who have ridden there on...
