• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took the 2021 RTL in for a service and oil change after completing my 9,045 mile cross country trip. Drove a little over an hour to Fayetteville to get the work done. Just as I was about to get off I-40, the rear tire on a tractor trailer exploded and threw pieces of the tire onto the car in...

Hot ride in between Frederick and Raleigh

Pulled the F3 out yesterday evening about 8 for a quick 20 mile ride around the block. About 1/2 mile in, there was a huge lightning strike just ahead of me. I made a quick U-turn and came back home. I was determined to get a ride in, so I got up at 6 this morning and rode the Spyder to the gym...

Hot ride in between Frederick and Raleigh

Definitely a brave individual. I live in Apex, and it has been too hot for me to ride. I am hoping to be able to get out for an early morning ride on Sunday, but with a forecast of 98, not sure that will happen.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

All I can do is look at it. We've had a 105 degree heat index for the past week, and although I will ride in cooler weather, it is definitely too hot to ride! There is a local bike night tonight, I might make a showing, since it is only 8 miles away.

Coming back to a Spyder - anyone found a dealer selling both BMW bikes and Spyders?

I agree with all of the above. I too am in NC and was able to find a 2 year old (at the time) 2021 RTL for $10k under what a new one would cost, and it only had 469 miles and still was under warranty. Like you, I also have a BMW (2019 K1600B). For me, that is my 2 wheeled, one up machine. It is...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I actually did take her by the dealership and showed her the Ryker. With the $2000+ rebates on leftover 2024's they have some great deals. Especially on the 600 cc Rykers. For my 260 pounds, it would be a bit small, but for her 5'-1" small frame, it would be perfect.

    Canyon Redrock vs '22 F3S - Demo day ride/comparison

Thanks for your assessment. I think I might give one a ride when the demos start in my area. Right now, I don't see considering a swap from my 2021 RTL or my 2016 F3L Special Series. The lack of a frunk really sucks. I would rather take those extra funds and pick up a ryker to tool around...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took one of my oldest granddaughters on about a 120 mile ride around to some of the local lakes and on some back roads. Seems like now I have a riding partner for whenever the wife doesn't want to ride. We do day trips to the mountains and to the beach each year, she already asked if she could...

    Spyder vs Georgia State Patrol

Wow, that's about as smart as those guys that decide to run on a 250 ninja.

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

Not sure which one, but a friend and I did the entire hwy 12 along the Outer Banks of NC. We got a chance to ride on 2 ferrys and didn't have a problem at all.

Maggie Valley Spyder Adventures 2025 - Sep 30 thru Oct 3

This is always a great event, and in one of the best riding areas in the US. We will be going 2 weeks later this year in order to see more of the change in leaf colors. It appears to have been getting earlier and earlier each year so we have a core group that get together and go the 2nd or 3rd...

    Heated Grip Install 2025 F3-T

My first Spyder was a 2014 RT. After that, I knew I would want heated grips from then on. So when I ordered my 2016 F3T new, I had them install the heated grips before delivery. Now I know that was definitely the right move.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Gave my 2021 RTL a good cleaning and replaced the +4" wider OEM style windshield with my -4" shorter windshield. I just returned on Monday evening from a 21 day, 9,045 mile cross country trip. The goal was for me and my buddy to do all 48 Continental States. He had a couple of issues and we had...

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

I agree with nearly all of the above opinions on the 998 vs 1330. I know around here it is very hard to find someone to work on the 998 versions of the spyders. But as stated above it is easy to get into a 998 for cheap right now, although you can find an early model 1330 for around $10k if...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

We are 7 days into our cross country trip. Have completed 12 of the lower 48 states and have about 2600+ miles logged so far. I will do a photo dump when we get home where I can downsize the pics. But I will say, this is the best trip of my life.
