• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

I would have no issues buying a 2014 RT. My first Spyder was a 2014 RT, and the only issue that I had with it was the DESS issue with the ignition key. Outside of that, it was flawless. The quality was much better than on my 2021 RTL, but I like the removeable trunk on the newer ones. The only...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Removed my luggage rack from the rear hitch after the trip back from the NC mountains. While umpacking things, I broke the latch on the right saddle bag! That is always fun. Now I'm going to give the dealership a call tomorrow and see if this item will be covered on my extended BRP...

    2025 Motorcycle of the Year

I don't do enough off roading (even dirt roading) to justify a Canyon of any kind. I know the wife's seating is more comfortable on my RTL than it would be on the Canyon. If I was to do some dirt riding, I would just pick up a deal on a Ryker and not have to worry at all about the belt drive...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Final checks on the 2021 RTL. We are heading up to Maggie Valley for 5 days of riding and relaxing. I installed the center light and luggage rack about 2 weeks ago. Today I am double checking the fluids and air pressure. Weather is looking great, all except for possible rain on the first 50...

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

I never really thought about it, but I guess I do swap out helmets every 4-5 years. I tend to use a 3/4 helmet for the spyder and modular for the 2 wheelers. I also swap out jackets every 3-5 years also. That is mainly due to them fading over time. I start out with a black jacket and after about...

    2025 Motorcycle of the Year

I am actually more surprized that they really picked any 3 wheeled bike. I would like to see how the suspension would react on either my F3L, but especially, on my RTL. But the looks department alone would keep me from buying one. And that is before we even discuss giving up the frunk space, the...

    2025 Motorcycle of the Year

Wow, I bet that ruffled a lot of feathers! Guess I am going to have to give one a test drive when they have a demo day.

New Owner of a 2024 Sea to Sky.

Welcome! We have similar taste. I have a 2021 RTL and a BMW K1600B (which is similar to the Gold Wing). They both have their place. I was contemplating taking the BMW for my cross country trip that I did last May/June, but I am so glad I took the Spyder instead. With taking all the pictures, I...

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

Haven’t known him as long as you, but I can honestly say that the few times that I have met him, it was a joy. I learned of him back in 2006 with his M109 day. We kinda ran in the same circles, but I didn’t get to meet him in person until 2015. We happened just by chance to both be staying in...

I guess I'm just not a Twisties guy!

I see the speed limit signs for curves as a challenge. First goal was 10 over, then 20 over. Now if I am on the F3 I see how close I can get to doubling that number🤔. The biggest difference in the twisties vs a 2 wheeler is that it seems to be more of an upper body workout when riding the...

I guess I'm just not a Twisties guy!

I love the twisties on my F3 and my RT series! I actually feel more confident at going fast on the Spyder than I do on my 2 wheeler. It all comes down to practice. Yes, upgraded sway bar and shocks might help, but nothing is better than practice. As for the Canyon, a buddy of mine, Patrick, is...

Pros and Cons on pre ordering a 2026 RT?

Pros is that you will have the first one on your block. Cons is that there are great deals on leftover 2025 and even 2024's out there. Not enough difference in my opinion. But hey, I'm a bargain hunter anyway.

For those going to Maggie Valley next week, Keep an eye on the weather!

I have about 8 buddies heading up there tomorrow (Wednesday 10/1). Should be great weather. I asked him to give me a leaf color report. We are going in 12 days and hoping to catch peak color for the season.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I have one of those that I had installed on my 2016 F3T. When I sold it I kept the cat delete for future use. But since then, I have really become accustomed to the normal sound. At first, the sound of the 2021 RTL was definitely too quiet (still is). But I would just like to try fitting the...

For those going to Maggie Valley next week, Keep an eye on the weather!

If you like, shoot me a message when rolling through the Raleigh area. I’m located in Apex (just outside of Raleigh). I’m available most saturdays. Sunday is more of church and family time. I was thinking about riding over to Sanford on Saturday for Southern Supreme open house.
