• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I am on Spyder number 5 and 6. I have owned a 2014 RT, 2012 RSS, 2- 2016 F3T's, a 2016 F3L, and a 2021 RTL. Of them all, I will have to say the F3 series fit my style of riding best. But I love the ability to remove the trunk from the 2021 RTL if I want to be sportier (that was my only gripe...

10 year parts law - will parts for the 1330 engine/trans still be available into 2036?

I have found this to be so true. Back around 2000 I was restoring my '73 Plymouth Road Runner and upgrading the 318 engine to a built 440. I knew this was doable because the 440 was a factory option. When I was looking for a radiator the aftermarkets were priced super high. So one day I walked...

    Speaking of BIG bikes...

Even reading the name M109 brings back great memories. Yep, Lamont was one of the originators for that one too. Over the years I have owned 5 of them and enjoyed every one. When Lamont sold his 06 a few years ago, I was really tempted to pick it up. But the wife wouldn't have it. A buddy of...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Did lots of spinning and some sliding and the nanny actually didn't come on at all. In fact, it didn't even give me the icon on the dash. I was actually expecting that. Maybe it was because I wasn't really going that fast.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took the Spyder out to play on the snow around the neighborhood. We only got about 2"-2.5", but it was enough for now. All 100 Counties in NC got some measurable amount of snow this weekend. I don't remember it ever doing that. We actually got the short end of the stick. 40 miles North, East...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

No, I will just be playing around on the neighborhood street. They won't be salting those.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

This weekend, they are calling for snow and not ice (like last weekend). So I will be rotating my vehicles so that the Spyder can get out. Yep, if we get the 4"-6" of snow predicted and not ice, I definitely plan on taking it out to play in the neighborhood. I think I will take the RTL, as the...

We're experiencing Unusual Southern Weather... with pics!

I actually took my Mustang out of the garage and put my little SUV in there last Saturday. My thoughts were that if an emergency came up, I would rather have something that I could drive actually sitting where I did not have to clear out a whole lot of snow or ice. They were way off on last...

What portable air compressor/jump starter do you use when touring?

I think that is the key. When we did our cross country trip, I placed that, my extra quart of oil, and my tire patch kit in the right hand saddle bag. I don't trust these saddle bags yet, and my thoughts and hopes were that I never have to open it during a trip, because if I do, that means that...

Oil Leak on 2023 RTL caused by oil filter cap O-ring...

I used to get in trouble all the time when working on my cars, trucks, etc. as a youth. My uncle used to laugh and say I was too "cock strong". Since then I have purchased many tools, and the go to ones for me are the short handle ratchets and wrenches. I hardly ever use a torque...

What portable air compressor/jump starter do you use when touring?

Mine is a "Travelman" unit with 3000A jumpstarter and 150 PSI air compressor. It is awesome. Jumped off 2 cars and a buddy's Spyder and had over 75% charge remaining. Picked it up on Amazon. It also has charging ports for phones and etc. The entire case and all is about 9"x7"x5".

What did you do to your Spyder today?

The right saddle bag latch is broken on my 2021 RTL and has held my battery pack, air compressor, and jump starter captive in there since October. With the upcoming bad weather and possible power outages I figured the battery pack might come in handy to keep the phones charged. So I removed...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Rode the wife's bike (a 2016 F3L) out on Thursday for about 80 miles. It hadn't been ridden lately, so I took it towards Siler City to see if I could observe the "Walk for Peace" march as they headed through Raleigh on their way to DC. For some reason, I passed a line of over 2 miles worth of...

Buying our first Spyder in the Spring - what should I be looking for?

Check out the 2022 that my buddy has for sale. It is set up with the panniers and windshield. But you mention that you have an Africa Twin, so the question I have to ask is how often will you be traveling on dirt or gravel roads? The reason for asking is because in those cases a Ryker or...

Chilly temps ahead - No riding this weekend :( :)

Up to 1/2" or more ice expected here Saturday and Sunday. But today it is supposed to get to 60°. I am actually looking into riding down 64 towards Siler City to greet the Monks on their "walk for peace" from Texas to DC. Seems like a good cause, and I would like to say I saw it. Although they...
