• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I've actually decided not to take it on the trip. I don't trust it anymore at this point. I've already got it sold and a guy is picking it up this weekend. I bought a 2024 Ryker Rally that I will be leaving stock. I need something reliable for these road trips I'm taking. That being said...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I was thinking of some sort of gasket sealer or something to get it to stop, but I wasn't sure if I'd mess anything up with the filter being right there.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I've taken off the cap a ton of times and put it back on in different ways and with different screws. Same result. It would stop leaking after a new O-ring. Now, after the latest leak, even a new O-ring is not working. I've tightened the screws down as much as they will go without breaking...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I looked it over when I had the filter out and I didn't see anything super obvious. No cracks or anything like that. No one's touched this Ryker except me for oil changes and maintenance. So my issue is if there is a defect that is forming, that would require a whole new block at that point...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I just put a brand new O-ring and screws in it. The same exact leak, same exact spot right away... so weird.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

Cool, I'll touch base with you later next week and let you know when I'll be in the area.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I've never pried it off, but it's always the same exact spot, regardless of the O-ring or how I put the cap back on. It's very strange.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

No. I've had the same setup for a couple years now, and ever since the first time I noticed the leak, it's been consistent. Changing out the O-ring seems to help for a bit. But it always comes back. I'm actually going to be in your area in two weeks. I could swing by if you wanted to look at it...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I've got an aftermarket intake, exhaust, and tune. Everything else is stock.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

Wouldn't it throw a code at that point? Maybe not. I'll double check some stuff today. The weird thing is the last oil change I did, it didn't leak for like 600 miles, then it started again.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

catch can was recommended by my tuner. I am not over filling it, I know how to check the oil.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

You know what, I have a oil catch can on it... I was thinking of disconnecting that and seeing what happens.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I've had a constant issue of leaks at the oil filter cap. The same exact spot every single time. The screw near the front of the motor. No matter how I put the cap on or what O-ring I use, it always ends up leaking at some point. I'm thinking of buying a new oil filter cap and trying that...
