• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Saddlebag Cable adjustments - done from the rear or each side?

I posted that the left saddlebag lid was stuck on my brother's 2014 RT-S, that issue was resolved. Thanks Longtimer! Now we want to clean, adjust and fix both saddlebag lids. Is this done from the rear or each side? Brother Ken is coming over tomorrow to work on it. Thanks! Chuck

    Saddlebag lid stuck.

Re: High mileage Spyder questions, answers. You nailed it Longtimer! Problem solved. Brother Ken thanks you! As do I. Now, how to adjust and lube cables? Is that from the back or each saddlebag? Chuck

    Saddlebag lid stuck.

We tried a light rap with the ball of your hand to a rubber mallet. You pull the release on the left side and it opens as it should. But you pull the other side and there's no resistance, like the cable isn't attached. We tried pulling both sides at once and that same thing. I hate taking it to...

    Saddlebag lid stuck.

I sold my high mileage 2014 Spyder RT-S to my brother. Now we can't get the right side saddlebag lid to come off. The left side works fine but when the release is pulled you feel nothing. Is the cable broken? I know the adjusters are under the rear plastic, but you can't get to the screws...

Rear left storage compartment is stuck

Yes, I know. But the rear side panels are screwed from inside the bag lids> they can't be reached! Chuck

    Front Sprocket Again!!

This is a mystery to me. I just sold my 2014RT-S with over 188,000 miles, on the original front sprocket. I replaced the rear at 155,000 but the front looked fine. No red dust. Chuck

Rear left storage compartment is stuck

How is the cables adjusted when the saddlebag won't open. Are the cables adjusted from the back, or each side. Either way the rear side covers have to come off, but how? The side screws are under the lid. Chuck

Rear left storage compartment is stuck

Saddlebag lid stuck! I recently sold my 2014 RT-S with 188,000+ miles on it to my brother, Ken. He brought it over to get the right saddlebag lid to open, I couldn't. The other side works right, but the right doesn't even feel like the cable is hooked up. It won't budge. Any ideas? Chuck

    Time has come..

Thank you all, but I'm not going to fade away. My beloved 2014 RT-S is still running like new. It was sold to my 72 year old brother Ken Frick, some may know him from articles in Cycle, the BMW magazines. He's taking my Spyder to Great Falls Montana in June for the BMW International Rally. At...

    Time has come..

As much as I hate it, the time has come to retire from motorcycling. After 55 years and well over 1,150,000 miles. I've owned 25 motorcycles, the last two a BMW trike K1200LT, and my beloved 2014 RT-S Spyder. My Spyder... never ridden a better three wheeled Motorcycle. I wanted so to get 200K on...

Rt 2017 Headlight Replacement issue ?? (Connectors)

This happened to my '14 RT-S. My contacts melted and I replaced them with connectors from a 94 Dodge in Pete Millers junkyard. Those melted too. I found still a third set and those lasted. But now I'm blowing bulbs every week. But on this forum somebody wrote in about Tricled Led headlights. My...

    Overheated Spyder

This morning I was able to fill the tank, it took over half gallon and now all is fine. It started right up and took 25 minutes of idling for the fan to come on, and it was blowing warm air. It ran over an hour and worked just like it should. But I will make an appointment to have the radiator...

    Overheated Spyder

This sounds simple, more common sense than anything. But I'm handicapped and this sounds like I have to remove the front end, which I can't do. My thought is to fill the reservoir tank as much as it can hold then start it. Let it run and see if it works normally. If it does then let it cool and...

    Overheated Spyder

Thanks Bert. You have questions on my Spyders age? I'll tell you all I know. These machines are ahead of their time. Most anything needed on a superior cycle is built in. But sure, everything wears out. I've replaced all 3 rotors because they all had deep scars ground into them. I'll be here a...
