• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm on the edge of my seat. :ROFLMAO: Wife wants a purple Canyon.

2024 RT wont shift into reverse - anyone else? Any ideas/fixes?

Our 2023 wouldn't go into reverse twice in the same day. Only thing I could add to that situation is that it was 113-114° both times it happened. 6500 miles since and the issue has never shown back up.

What are your thoughts on any potential reliability/issues of this 16 year old Spyder?

I'd pass on that one! Too many signs it was neglected. Original brake fluid and coolant still in it? The 10 year old thing doesn't freak me out because we should have parts for at least 10 years after the generation of bikes change according to US laws? The generation ending in 2019...

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

There is an adjuster (bi-directional bleed) that affects both compression and rebound at same time.

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

As a shock/suspension tuner I'm very aware of how the components work together. Everyone has their own theory and idea of what is best. I most do Jeeps/Trucks but dabble in motos. The stuff generally coming from most of the manufacturers is horrible out of the box, but the buyers don't really...

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

I get it... most people riding these things are not "performance enthusiasts" and can be satisfied when it starts and moves on its own power. The complication of too many adjustment is just too much. I'm looking forward to throwing a leg over a Canyon and having the ability to tune the OE...

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

Elka's for the RT don't have an external reservior or a compression clicker or I would have gotten those options. The only failure points added are the hose and a couple more O-rings. They have been around a long time and the product speaks for itself. My biggest issue with Elka was a slight...

So what's the difference, apart from the name? (Coilover springs)

I'll be interested in your feedback on the 350's. I would expect the OE shocks would lack the rebound damping to control the energy released after an event. 300's were supplied on our Elka shocks and I feel they are too firm in on the rougher backroads especially with the Baja Ron's Ultra Bar...

How many of your Spouse's ride their own machines?

Wife used to backpack with me even before we got married. Many friends got hurt and even died, so she decided to not be a passenger anymore. She always said that if she ever rode on the street again that it would be on her own machine so that the chances of us both going down at the same time...

New Low Rate Financing for 2025 Spyders!

That new Canyon RedRock purchase is looking pretty good right now? The 8.9% they have been offering is tough to swallow on something you don't need and tough to pull money out of the bank with the return we have been seeing!

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I looked into adding an aux tank and even purchased one for the RT, but we decided a Canyon is in the future, so I'll save the efforts for that machine. I have a Camel tank on my Super Adventure 1290R and it vaccumes from the main tank vent too. I've only had an issue one time where the...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I looked at the wiring diagram and parts fiche and didn't find any "EVAP Pressure Sensor" only the "Purge Solenoid", so I would assume the system is not monitoring pressure like modern OBD2 cars. Leave your gas cap loose and find out?

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Washed 7001 miles of bugs and road grime off? Wife and I rode the entire route 66 west to east, rounded the corner at the Mackinac bridge, and headed back west though the northern states. I accidentally routed our GPS to Lamonster Garage when we were headed to the hotel in Springfield, but...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Swapped on new EBC rotors and balanced the tires. That annoying shake in the left fender while braking is gone. Also replaced a little plastic skid plate that was cracked. I so hate the stupid plastic fasteners these things are held together with. I fought one for 20 mins trying to line it...
