• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Throwed Roll Ryde at Spyderfest

Throwed Roll Ryde - Can't imagine being this close to a Lambert's Cafe without going there, so today (Thursday) Cherrie and I will be riding to Ozark for "throwed rolls." If you are at Spyderfest and would like to join us, we will leave from the Best Western Route 66 motel (203 S. Glenstone Ave)...

    GPS sunshade

Saw a Spyder RT the other day with a really cool sunshade on his GPS, that folds up to be a cover when the GPS is removed. Says he bought it through some vendor on SpyderLovers, but couldn't remember who. I can't seem to find it. Can anyone direct me to this product?

Funny reaction at a fuel stop

Alien Attack! My wife and I were traveling down the New Jersey Turnpike about 10 days ago on our Spyder RT-LE with trailer. As we pulled up to the toll booth, the lady attendant stuck her head out the window and yelled, "Oh My God! I thought the aliens were coming to take me away!":roflblack:

Top Five List from the Ambassador Trip

Coaching? As Faran said, Lamont and I were supposed to "coach" Faran & Mickey on the finer points of riding a Spyder. I'm here to tell you, quite truthfully, that very little coaching was needed for either of them. Having assisted at demo rides and such, I've gone through this with dozens of...

What an adventure to get home :(

Slipping clutch As the techs have already checked it out and verified it is the clutch, this may be a moot point, but thought I would mention it if someone else develops these symptoms. I noticed that several people chimed in that the symptoms indicated it "has to be the clutch." Well, I had...

    FRED RAU SPYDER CONTRADICTION?

Mileage Forgot to mention something every RT owners knows already - the gas gauge is notoriously pessimistic. When mine first hits the red zone, I know I still have more than a third of a tank left. When the warning light goes on, I usually still have about two gallons in the tank - or at least...

    FRED RAU SPYDER CONTRADICTION?

Mileage Questions Right now I am crossing the continent with my RT for the 7th time, pulling a trailer every time. My average mileage from all of these trips is 25.6 mpg. However, having kept fairly careful records, I can also say that the RT's mileage has slowly gotten better as the miles have...

    FRED RAU SPYDER CONTRADICTION?

Okay - just to be clear, I never considered this "mud slinging." Believe me, I've had my share of REAL mud slinging, and this ain't it. Just a little good-natured give-and-take. Actually, I catch a LOT more flack from my motorcycling audience and buddies, for being a three-wheeled "traitor."...

    FRED RAU SPYDER CONTRADICTION?

My Opinions - Contradictions Geez - I get on the road and out of touch for a couple of days, and all hell breaks loose. You know, "fordguyupnorth," you COULD have just emailed or called and ASKED me about all this before creating this little firestorm. It's weird watching everyone postulate on...

    Spyderfest at Cow Town

BBQ in Cowtown Hey Lamonster! Glad to hear you made it to Cowtown. Wish I could have come along. I stopped in there last October and met all the folks - nice bunch. Make sure they tell you about the great BBQ joint in town they sent me to. I don't remember the name of it - looks like an old log...

    Disappointment

Poor Quality It really bothers me to see someone have problems like this. I think I would have to agree that it comes down to individual units, and luck of the draw got you a bad one. Of course, luck shouldn't have anything to do with it - quality control should have settled that. Personally, I...

Slight detour on my ride across America

Lamont's a Witch I am in Biloxi, MIssissippi, facing severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, flash flooding, etc. Obviously, Lamont somehow knew this was coming. I don't believe that crap about the clutch. The Lamonster left me out in the cold, all alone. I will get my revenge! Fred:spyder: ps: I...
