• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trading my 2010RT for a RSS

RT to an RS YOU BET For what its worth... Sold a 2011 RS for a brand new 2012 RT-S in 2013. In a lot of ways, really wish I hadn't. Loved the riding position of the RS and the power. Yes the RT is very comfortable in a Lazy-Boy kind of way. The riding position seems very well suited to...

when do failures occur most often

The 3rd option is no failure. I bought two new Spyders over the past four years and neither has had a failure. (exception was the dealer that delivered our RTS with a setup issue) Am I scared of a failure? I would have to say yes. I think these are way more temperamental then most any...

    Camping 2 UP

Thank you all for all the great responses! It is nice there are so many options for us Spyder riders to go camping. We used to have a 11 Spyder RS that I built a rack for the back of and then using the BRP side cases for our camping needs. It was tough and we had to leave a lot of stuff at...

    Camping 2 UP

Had a great June 2014 trip with our 12 RTS this summer. 1500 plus miles riding our Spyder up through Northern California. The Spyder did great even with all our camping gear. We sold our Bushtec Turbo 2 trailer to another Calif. Spyder rider recently and went with a hitch rack and a trunk...

My 83 Year Old Mom Takes A Ride

She might like a longer ride soon! My dad just turned 91 and started riding motorcycles when he was in WWll. He rode up until recently. He lives with us now and keeps going in my garage and eying the Spyder. He says he would like one.

    Camp Tent Trailer

Hello Satchmo60, For one person, checked out the Mini-Mate camper. Another great site is motocampers.com There you will find motorcyclists that ride and camp. Tons of great info on trailers and some for sale. Not for riders that trailer their bikes.....

    Smooth Spyder Backrest

I am considering going back to an RS and really liked the BRP backrest but it was expensive. I thought this would be a great alternative but for the price, I think I would stick with a factory backrest. I actually prefer the looks of the BRP unit.

    Best MC Trailer

Sorry Doc45 but thought I would just provide an update. The Bushtec IS a tube type. The tires do have tubes on our 2013 Turbo 2. Here is a quote from Bushtec: Directly from the Factory: Our tires are technically tubeless tires, but with cast wheels there are sometimes imperfections in the...

    Dry Clutch Rattle

Thank you for the comments. To answer the questions, ours is a SM5 and the noise did not ever go away once the oil pressure was up and it was warm. I will take it out this weekend now that I have all the tupperware back on and see if anything is different. Thank you,

    Dry Clutch Rattle

Completed my first oil change on our 12 RT-S. With the tupperware off and the oil changed, I started her up and she sounds much different with the plastic off. There was a noise coming from the engine that sounded just like a dry clutch Ducati. Guess I never noticed it when the tupperware was...

    Best MC Trailer

plus one on Scotty's reply. We wanted a RT622 but at the time, any dealer near us wanted full msrp and we were hoping to save a few dollars. Found a good price on one on the other side of the USA but the dealer didn't want to work with us on our freight hauler. Ended up with a Bushtec Turbo...

    Tour of the Central Coast

Hello Pirate looks at... I run the regional motorcycle website called CentralCoastRider .com down here out of San Luis Obispo. We often take our Spyder up Hwy 1 and stay in Carmel and cruise the various non-populated roads. (bought our first Spyder in Elk Grove where you are located)...

    Newbie needs advice.

Hello Shug, Glad you joined with us. Auto dealers are not the best choice but if the bike was cared for it should be fine. I would get her in for at least an oil change and have them go over the bike thoroughly. (brakes, check codes, re-call(s) done if any, tires and belt tension to name a...
