• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Cancelling a B.E.S.T. Warranty

I have a potential buyer for my Spyder, but they are not interested in the three year extended warranty that I have. The manufacturers warranty is still good until June 15, 2017, so the extended warranty hasn't even kicked in yet. Is it possible to cancel it and get my money back? I tried...

    Pampurrs is well!

Thank you for posting that, Joe. I didn't realize that my absence was that conspicuous! I came on today to see how much other people were asking for the RTs, and found your private message. Pam

Changed headlight lamps on my RT...... thank you PMK!

One of my headlight lamps expired (25,830 miles). Since it's such a tedious affair, I thought it best to change both lamps while I'm in there. Thanks PMK for all your great advice over on the Spyder technical forum. I'm especially grateful that you pointed out the error in the users manual...

Valvoline™ 4-Stroke Motorcycle Full Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil

I've used it on my last two oil changes. It seems to work just fine. BajaRon recommended it to me, and I trust his judgement. Pam

    Engine downshift as a brake

Engine braking is commonly used in motorcycles. Those of us who have been riding for years have always done it. It doesn't hurt the engine or tranny as long as it's done properly, and does help improve stopping and brake longevity. The key of course, is being aware of speed and RPM before...

    Eco.mode.....seriously???

Last year, when I made my 1,000 mile ride from Phoenix to Dallas, and the 1.000 mile ride back from Dallas to Phoenix, I used ECO mode on the ride back just to see if there would be a difference. My MPG was abysmal on both legs of the trip, with not one bit of improvement when I used ECO. I...

    Eco.mode.....seriously???

Believe it or not, their are some people on here who use it. I guess they can't figure out when they're supposed to shift so they need a guide to tell them. :dontknow: IMO, it doesn't really save that much in fuel costs, but costs plenty in performance. Pam

    The Bagdad Cafe

In 1961 my mother decided to move us from Chicago to California. I was 12 and my sister was 13, and we rode in the backseat of my mom's boyfriend's 57 Chevy on Route 66 the whole way. I have very vivid memories of that journey. We ended up only living in California for a year when my mom...

Ridiculous cost for a Spyder tag in Alabama

$460 for mine, which includes $25 for personalized tag. I think Arizona is the second highest in the country. But at least everything else here is less expensive :dg2: Pam
