• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where are you from? Where do you live?

We had a Filipino dish called "Dinuguan" over white rice. Google it. Lemme know if you want to come over and try some, LOL. Hopefully, we can schedule a ride soon when the temps go down a bit !!

    Spyderless, but not gone!

Frankly, I don't understand the appeal of those things. IMHO, they're not unlike a small convertible. Might as well get something more practical like a Miata ....

Where are you from? Where do you live?

Reno, NV. Moved here back in 2006 after being on the road as a medical contract worker (I.e. CT/x-ray traveler) for 7 years trying to find a place I would call "home". Positives - best skiing in the country, best roads to ride my Harley and Spyder, seafood buffets aplenty, no state taxes...

Can this plastic piece be removed to wrap?

I'm sure you can find a wrap that would cover that piece. It's actually a very easy procedure to do if you take your time and develop a good technique.

Anyone purchased from an out of town dealer? Is this common? Any concerns?

I honestly don't see any issues doing this. My local dealership didn't have an RT Limited in stock, so I had to travel to Elk Grove, CA to purchase one. It was still in the crate, so they took a few days to assemble it, and then it was shipped directly to my house on a flat bed trailer.

Battery Tenders - should you use them or not?

That's the same brand and type I have. I'd test the battery at Batteries Plus or AutoZone, it has probably reached the end of its service life. These things don't last forever despite the use of maintainers.

    29) Show Chrome Short Spiral Antenna Difficulty Level - 1.5 Tips - BEFORE YOU START, TAPE OFF THE AREA AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ANTENNA TO PROTECT THE BIKE'S FINISH. I forgot to do just that and now have a nice scratch. Starting at the very bottom of the old antenna, I tried my best to unscrew it...

My RT-L first service tomorrow - is one of the 2 drain plugs magnetic? Any advantage to having both magnetic?

"… where any metal is trapped between the two ..." Dahell does THAT mean?!?! Just buy those magnetic drain plugs with the convenient hex head and call it good.

Antenna Snapped, need a replacement - recommendations? And Shuddering at low RPM - any ideas?

I just replaced mine last weekend. Look for a post on “Peacekeeper6 Mod Thread” under the General Forum soon.

My Back between the shoulders hurts after 6 hours of riding - anyone else? Would handlebar risers help? Is this normal?

A backrest makes a HUGE difference. Also, varying hand positions on the handlebar when the cruise control is engaged on LONG straightaways help greatly as well. I like to "one-hand" the bike when there's no traffic and the highway is free and clear to do so.

Do People Get Thrown Off of Spyders?

It's easier than you think. It becomes very "second nature", not unlike jumping from a car with a automatic transmission to one that has a manual. I also have a 2-wheeler and don't find the adjustment particularly difficult. I actually don't have to think about it.

So, how fast can a spyder go and safely make a sharp right turn at an intersection?

You CANNOT just sit there upright like a statue when approaching turns at a good clip. There HAS to be some weight shifting involved, otherwise you'll be thrown off like a ragdoll. The aftermarket sway bar will definitely help in making your bike corner flatter; that is, it won't look as...

Just added Ron's Ultimate Sway Bar - amazing difference!

Remember, don't just base your findings on the end links. There are a few owners who just replace them WITHOUT replacing the sway bar. So make sure you inspect everything.
