• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

I know this thread is 7 months old but as riding season comes on us I thought it might be good to bring to the front again. I learned to ride in Argentina in the early 60's on a DKW 200CC. No nothing. No gloves, jacket, helmet, boots, just whatever came out of the closet. When I came back to the...

Anyone use an Iridium face shield? Any advantages/disadvantages?

I use a Bell but dont remember the model. I know it is not a Revolver. It is a modular. Maybe an SRT?

Anyone use an Iridium face shield? Any advantages/disadvantages?

So how do I find one of these if I was one for my helmet? An Iridium shield.

    I had both of these...

Bikes were insane in the 70's. It is amazing any of us lived through that time. My best friend had a brand new Mach III and I had New Norton Command. He would get off work at 12:00 on Saturday and meet at his shop in Provo. Our 3rd friend on an RD350 would and we would head for Eureka a decaying...

No more motorcycle magazines for me...

Noting the demise of print media, it seems many of us have made the choice to move on. Cycle,, Cycle World, Rider, Road Runner, Road Rider, AMA, and many others over years have had place in my library . As a Life AMA member only the digital comes free, I don't care enough to buy the printed...

Have you seen the Outrageous cost of Spyder accessories!?!

I have a Hopnel bag I bought over 30 years ago for a dark brown 1986 Venture Royale I had back in the day. It is still very nice though faded. Their stuff is very well made and lasts a long time. They still make the same bag, but only in black these days. It fits in the rack.

I just bought the Can Am Spyder S2S Luggage - sidebags excellent, trunk or top box bag not so much!

Granted mine is an antique at 2012, but it came with the semi rigid bags as part of the Limited package. Two side bags, one frunk bag ( very nice with wheels), and one trunk bag,too small to be useful for very much. That bag gets little to no use, but the other three are very useful and very...

Any help or pointers with changing the trunk lock? 2010 RTS-SE5

The OEM vacuum hoses are rubber and given time and heat break down and crack and leak vacuum. Should be replaced with silicon hoses as soon as possible. You will have to buy some bulk hose and make your own. They are 3mm hose and should be cut to the same length. This only applies to VTwin...

    The 'Full Synthetic' Myth Exposed

Well that was interesting and very informative. Thanks Ron for posting that link. I may be rethinking my oil buying habits in the near future.

Method for determining when to replace brakes - suggestions

the actual measurement for pad replacement is 1mm. That is a little thicker than a credit card. For some reason the Spyder tends to wear the rear brake pads faster than the fronts, usually about 2 to 1 for the rear. Be sure to put some kind of anti squeal paste on the back of the pads. BajaRon...

    'The Lamonster Chronicles'

I don't see how you made it through 3 pieces of that. You would be wheeling me out with a hand truck. Keep the stories coming.
