• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a can of that. Got it back in the 60's. I wonder if it is still good?

Does this Ultra Plus Full Synthetic 10W40 oil work for our Spyders?

I agree with Ron on this, but then I change oil at 4300 miles which is the recommended time for my 2012 VTwin.

    My unscientific noise study

I worked in a steel mill for 30 years. Although some safety equipment was required as a condition of employment hearing protection was not, though highly recommended and provided. I always wore it and as a result came out of there with my hearing intact, as shown by yearly hearing exams. I do...

    Happy Birthday

Yes it was a great noisy time. We even had to use a public park to hold us all. One grandson-in-law, who is a brilliant musician and pianist, played a rendition of Fats Domino's Walking to New Orleans, and a daughter and son-in-law came up with a song about some events in my life with the help...

    Happy Birthday

Tues August 11th made 80 trips around the sun for me. Cynthia, my wife, gave me a surprise party on Saturday. All my kids, many of my grandkids, and even 1 of the 5 great grandkids made it. Also, my 3 siblings as well as many friends and motorcycle riding buddies made it, so it was a great...

2012 RT experiencing mushy brakes - pedal hitting the a/mkt floorboard! Why now?? Re-installed OEM gear, still mushy! Any ideas or suggestions?

I actually had the brake fluid changed and the system bled in Oct by a dealer with BUDS.

2012 RT experiencing mushy brakes - pedal hitting the a/mkt floorboard! Why now?? Re-installed OEM gear, still mushy! Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks Doug, for the timely information. I knew about the front caliper situation but had forgotten about it, thank you for the reminder. @mecsw500, things are fine here in Spring City. Our major disruption here is the smoke from the Widemouth II fire in Filmore (smells like a campfire) and the...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

Removing that shaft is usually a matter of removing the side case over the clutch, removing the clutch, pulling out the broken shaft, putting the new shaft in place and reversing the disassembly. I know it's easier said than done, but the point is, it isn't going to require pulling the engine...

Anyone know of a source for a 2010 RT brake cable? Or any alternatives that will fit?

For those reading this thread who don't have a friend who can send them a cable, a custom bike shop can usually build you a cable. They have bulk cable, outer cable, and ends.

2012 RT experiencing mushy brakes - pedal hitting the a/mkt floorboard! Why now?? Re-installed OEM gear, still mushy! Any ideas or suggestions?

Although my 2012 has always had mushy brakes since I bought it in 2015 with 8500 miles, they would get firm when the fluid was changed every 2 years. That would last about a year, then start to get mushy again until the 2 year mark. Now they are mushy no matter what. At 83,000+ miles, is it time...

Thoughts on my first SS1000 with the Spyder

As to your seat problem, give motorcycledave a call. He used to be an advertiser here. He sells a seat pad you mount under the seat cover. I did this to my seat and turned it into a seat I could ride forever on. It cost me 3 hours of labor to install plus buying an air staple gun ($30,00)...
