• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is It OK to Make 500 km On the First Day With a Brand-New 2023 Can-Am RT Limited?

Hi John (@esky). That was a great recap of your adventures up until Winter. How wonderful that you found a great dealer to work with. Keep us up to date on how those rides next year go.

In search of an Ultimate Trailer OHT3 designed for hauling Spyders - any input?

I have the same type enclosed trailer as Albec. It works great for the Spyder and many other uses as well, and was a lot cheaper!

Yes it’s the age old tire question… What's currently the best replacement?

Adventurer, my condolences on the passing of your son. Only time and our Savior can heal the empty spot he used to fill. It does get better.

Is It OK to Make 500 km On the First Day With a Brand-New 2023 Can-Am RT Limited?

John, We haven't seen you since last Sept, so you may never see this. I hope all is well with you and your Spyder. Thank you for giving us the end of your ride home. How did your further solo long distance go?

After some True Can-Am insight - will I be making a huge mistake buying the RTL or F3?

I have a 2012 with 81,000+ miles on it. I have been in every State West of the Mississippi. The only reason I would say to get a newer one is that many dealers won't work on the older ones and there are not enough independent shops that will work on a Spyder. Go try both models and see which you...

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

I have never had anyone disparage my Spyder, including a large group of Harley riders at a gas stop at Sturgis. They asked why I didn't go with a Tri Glide - I told them I thought the Spyder was more comfortable. The ones who had ridden a Tri Glide just smiled and nodded in agreement. Most...

I needed, and found, the correct screws for the Rear ABS ring.

I would not worry about getting the 3m 2353y as it's manufacture has been discontinued by 3M due to 2 of it's component suppliers no longer making those components. This is as of Aug 23,2023. https://nylok.com/news/important-notice-regarding-3m-product-availability/

It pays to buy quality gear

I also have a First Gear (Made by Hein Gericke in Europe) leather jacket. I have worn it steadily since 1993 and it still looks good. I treat it regularly with a leather conditioner/cleaner. It also has a shrinkage problem which I remedied by having an expander made for the front zipper. In...

Yes, so it is. Well now it has a very new answer.

2013 Spyder ST new owner, Clutch problem - Any Ideas?

You need to check the oil again. The V-Twins use oil and since you have a few miles, you may be down enough to cause clutch/shifting problems. You must keep your oil level up on a V-Twin to keep clutch happy.

How Many Ride an RT Limited After The 5 years Of BRP Warranty Has Expired?

My Spyder is an RTL, a 2012, so it is kind of an antique. It has 81,000 + miles on it and would have more miles on it, but health problems have slowed me down a little. I bought it with 8,000 miles on it from the original owner when it was 3 years old, so it had no warranty. I did buy a two year...

Can an RS be made a comfortable cruiser for 2

You can do anything if you throw enough time and money at it. In the years you are looking at, the RT model is not that expensive and is already where you want it to be. By the time you throw on the required bags, larger windshield, better seat, backrests, etc, you will have spent the difference...

Which AfterMarket fuel filter do you use for your F3?

Same as @jjc54, I went to NAPA with the old one and they fixed me up. I don't remember what it was, but it worked just fine.

Anyone had any luck using a Non-OEM Trailer for a 2020 RT Limited?

I have towed two different trailers with no ill affects with my 2012 RTL. Keep a close eye on the tongue to make sure the drawbar mount doesn't start to come loose. That is the main problem, they are not built to take the constant up and down motion, so monitor them closely. .

    Random thought for the day

I really liked that song, and also Does Your Chewing Gum Lose it's Flavor on The Bedpost Overnight, and Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport. Yes I was a weird Kid.
