• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thoughts on my first SS1000 with the Spyder

As to your seat problem, give motorcycledave a call. He used to be an advertiser here. He sells a seat pad you mount under the seat cover. I did this to my seat and turned it into a seat I could ride forever on. It cost me 3 hours of labor to install plus buying an air staple gun ($30,00)...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

I don't know how much difference there is between a 998 motor and a 1330 motor for shaft access, but I had mine (a 2012 with the 998 motor) replaced and it was under $800.00 including the shaft and gasket. My advice is fix it there at Rice's and ride it home. I doubt the repair and ride home...

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

I believe "CAF" is now Commemorative Air Force these days. They still do a nice job of preserving old war birds. Thanks for the writeups and the pictures.

    Lucky Seven - 7 weeks, 14 states, 21 Rides

I love that ride from Cooke City along Chief Joseph. Be sure to stop at the top of Dead Indian Pass. The views are fantastic and the history sign is interesting. Are you going to spend any time in Cody? The Buffalo Bill Cody Museum is more than worth the time. Thanks for taking us along, great trip.

Voltage going down as I accelerate, even with a new battery! Code P0562. What has happened?

We haven't seen ES44AC for a while. I wonder how his electrical problem turned out? Anybody know him or what happened?

Comparing how we ride our Spyders - what does your trip meter say??

Like Many, Trip A is tank mileage. I use trip S for total miles ridden on a trip. If I am just riding around, then I don't bother to check B. I use a log book to keep track of when my services are due. As my Spyder is older (2012), I don't have some of the more sophisticated things that you...

Can a Spyder replace a motorcycle?

We have all been bitten by this before, but notice the thread start date is 2008. Also, he stuck around until Oct 2025. Don't know why he left, but I am sure he got a lot of good information over the years and probably gave out a lot too.

Buying a Demo 2026 Sea to Sky

Find out if the warranty was activated when they put it in demo service. You warranty goes from the time it is activated, not when it eventually gets sold. Be sure that you know the warranty end date and keep track of it so that you can add the BEST warranty before the factory warranty expires...

Smoke from the Canadian Wildfires reaching Wisconsin - anyone/anywhere else in the lower 48?

We have our own smoke here in Utah. Fortunately, the Monsoon season has started, so maybe it will put a damper on the smoke and some of the wild fires. Also, since the fires have stripped all the vegetation, now we get to worry about flash flooding in the burn scar areas.
