• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Having problems opening my '22 F3L Frunk - could it be the cable?

I've found that what works for me is to stand close to and facing the Spyder. I turn the key with my right hand to unlock the frunk, and while the key is still turned I use my left hand to lift the frunk lid.

What changes were made with the 2024 Spyder software update to V3.1?

No, they don't publish the details. The only detail I remember hearing about was the update in Spring 2024 when they announced that Apple Carplay was now available through a software update.

What changes were made with the 2024 Spyder software update to V3.1?

So I went out and took a couple of pictures. I did not take my helmet with me, so it was not bluetooth paired to the Spyder. I also did not plug in my iPhone, even though I did use it take these pictures. Engine running in Neutral: Engine running in 1st gear: So the large number in the...

What changes were made with the 2024 Spyder software update to V3.1?

If you are using Apple Carplay, then it does shift things around a bit, as the center and right side of the screen is taken over by the Carplay display. But the gear indicator is still there. I grabbed this image from the CAM-AM website, and resized it so it was smaller. The fuel gauge moved...

What changes were made with the 2024 Spyder software update to V3.1?

I can't answer your question about ECO mode without trying it on my 2024 Spyder. The gear "number" is in the lower left corner of the left side of the display. It displays R when in reverse, N when in neutral, and the number of the other gears. When the Spyder thinks you should shift up an...

What are your Phone Holder Preferences? Brand/style & placement?

It might have been where I mounted mine, which was right up against the left handgrip. And my iPhone was really bouncing around while I was riding when the Vibration Dampener was still installed.

What are your Phone Holder Preferences? Brand/style & placement?

So I still wasn't happy with the amount of vibration I was seeing for my iPhone with the QuadLock Vibration Dampener, so I removed it.

How do I get my 2020F3 dash to show Distance to Empty?

Page 40 of the 2020 Spyder F3 Operators Guide has the information you're looking for. The "Left Lateral Display" has a number of settings options, including Distance to Empty. At the top right side of page 40 there are steps "To select the value to be displayed in the tripmeter".

Apple Carplay - the good, the bad, and the really ugly

So I went for a ride this morning in order to avoid the thunderstorms predicted for this afternoon. I drove the same route as yesterday, using the same iPhone but connected to my Spyder this time. It was not pretty. :( Powered on my helmet headset, then plugged in my iPhone. It took several...

Saddle Bag Locks not working - is there a trick to it? Will squirting oil in help? Where?

I would not use oil in a lock mechanism. Use powered graphite. You can buy a tube of it at any hardware or auto parts store. It also comes in a spray can, which is probably what your service guy used.

Apple Carplay - the good, the bad, and the really ugly

Well, there was some rain today, so I didn't go for a ride. I did need to run an errand, so I drove my Honda Ridgeline, which also has Apple Carplay. When I started up and plugged in my iPhone, the display started up in Google Maps. So I entered the destination where I was going, and drove off...

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

I used to watch the TV show Counting Cars, where they did a bunch of custom cars and motorcycles. On more than one occasion the head of the shop, Danny Koker, referred to a motorcycle as a "scoot".
