• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Random thought for the day

There was a US TV Series named "The Expanse" on the SyFy (science fiction) channel. It was about three groups of political power in the solar system: Earth, Mars, and the Outer Planets (and asteroid belt). The main setting of the series is a Martian gunship named Rocinante.

Apple Carplay - the good, the bad, and the really ugly

I've seen that information, and did clean it and now have it covered with a tethered cap on the USB port when it doesn't have a cable plugged into the port. I created my own cable using a cap for a USB port attached to a cell phone wrist strap.

Apple Carplay - the good, the bad, and the really ugly

Actually, it doesn't need cell service, if you plan ahead. You can tell Apple Maps to download the maps for offline use. Google Maps on the iPhone has the same option. And downloading the maps isn't any different than what I do with my Garmin Zumo XT GPS. I regularly connect it to my computer...

Has anyone tried this lift from Harbor Freight?

I found this on the Tractor Supply website. It's a similar style of lift, but has a max wheel span of 62.5". Pricier, though, at $549.99. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/mojack-pro-750-lb-lift-for-tractors-and-zero-turn-lawn-mowers-mjpro

Has anyone tried this lift from Harbor Freight?

If you've already assembled it, then spread it as wide as possible, drive your Spyder up to it, and see if it fits. If it's still in the box, then I'd return it and get a pair of these instead: https://www.harborfreight.com/4000-lb-capacity-solid-steel-auto-ramp-set-63250.html

Apple Carplay - the good, the bad, and the really ugly

So I just got back from a visit to my dealer, and it was even uglier than you could possibly imagine! So when I left home this morning I could not get CarPlay to work. I drove a couple of miles South to the nearest gas station and filled up my tank. When I started the Spyder after...

Help - Looking for someone in East Tn to work on 2010 RT with Fault Codes & Limp Mode

Maybe I should delete the Mountain Motorsports information? And if I had realized BajaRon's was that close I would have definitely recommended them. So go see BajaRon!

2025 Spyder RT: Any Cautions to note before purchase?

I tested my 2024 Spyder RT Sea2Sky. If you open the top case part way and release it, then it does close. If you open the top case all of the way, then it stays open.

Help - Looking for someone in East Tn to work on 2010 RT with Fault Codes & Limp Mode

I haven't dealt with them, but there's a dealer in Kodak/Sevierville, Tennessee. Their website shows about 10 locations across Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee: Mountain Motorsports https://www.mountainmotorsports.com/--info Their website has phone numbers, so I'd call and ask to talk to their...

2025 Spyder RT: Any Cautions to note before purchase?

Apple CarPlay was introduced with the 2024 Spyder along with the 10.25" display. For the 2023 and earlier bikes, with the 7.8" display, you would use the BRP GO! app on your phone, which uses BRP Connect technology on the Spyder for communication...

2025 Spyder RT: Any Cautions to note before purchase?

As I was getting ready for bed, I thought about something else. Google found information that Harley-Davidson's implementation of Apple CarPlay also requires a headset. As does CarPlay on Honda Goldwings.

Is there a 'Full Tank' Triangle? If so, where? '22 RT

A triangle appears on the display? Not on my 2024 Spyder. The fuel "gauge" on the display is the image of a gasoline pump, with a series of vertical bars that run left (empty) to right (full).

2025 Spyder RT: Any Cautions to note before purchase?

You aren't the first person to make that comment. My only response is the amount of noise you experience while riding, even if you have a full coverage helmet, can drown out the speakers even at full volume.

2025 Spyder RT: Any Cautions to note before purchase?

So let's take a little side trip down my rabbit hole when it comes to Apple CarPlay. I also drive a 2023 Honda Ridgeline, which does support CarPlay. I currently own 7 different USB-to-Lightning cables. 4 genuine Apple cables, one Belkin cable, one no-name brand cable all of which are about a...

2025 Spyder RT: Any Cautions to note before purchase?

I grabbed a Adobe Acrobat copy of the 2025 Spyder RT Operator's Guide from here: https://www.operatorsguides.brp.com/P/5 The Apple CarPlay information on Page 50 is the same as the 2024 Operator's Guide, although the page formatting is different: On Page 49 you'll find the Preferences...
