• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    What I Saw Today

I went to Cracker Barrel and had pancakes, eggs, and bacon, with lots and lots of coffee! :coffee:

    What I Saw Today

So I had some business to conduct at a county government office, so had to go into the center of town. I live a couple of miles North of town, and really avoid the center of town when possible. So I go take care of business, which after waiting for 30 minutes find out I don't have everything I...

    It's Heeeeerrrrrrreeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Navigation!

I use a 1 meter/3.3 foot long USB-A to USB-C cable from Belkin. I choose that cable because it has a heavy braided sheath over the cable, protecting it from anything it might rub on while riding. It's worked fine with Apple CarPlay.

Using an iPhone with BRP-Go Navigation - Review

Not as doable as the Google Maps App on my Macintosh computer. Enter a starting point and a destination and it plots a route. If you don't like it, drag and drop using your mouse. When you're done, click the "Send directions to your phone..." link and Poof! And there's still the whole issue of...

    Problem attaching photo

I'm suddenly channeling my father. He made these little wooden toys. It was a square rod with some notches filed into one of the edges, with a "propeller" attached to one end with a brad nail. He then used a round stick to rub along the notches. He called it a "whimmy whammy" but there are other...

Using an iPhone with BRP-Go Navigation - Review

Okay, so what I see here is that you use either Apple Maps or Google Maps to load a route to your iPhone, and then use the maps directly on the iPhone for navigation while riding? And it appears BRP GO! is as horrible as I thought it was. As for the connection/bluetooth/cable issues yes, it's...

Using an iPhone with BRP-Go Navigation - Review

I'm sorry my question wasn't clear. I have no problem with the iPhone having to be plugged into the USB port, nor with configuring Bluetooth for my phone and helmet headset. I recently purchased a 2026 Honda Ridgeline, and the first thing the salesman helped me do was to Bluetooth connect my...

Using an iPhone with BRP-Go Navigation - Review

Thank you for the update on how it works. My first question about "navigation" is how do I tell it where I want to go, and possibly tell it what roads to use (ie avoid highways)?

Spyder 10.25" Display Models, Firmware V 5.1.0, Android and iPhone BRP Go! Connection for Maps

A quick Google search found the Mapbox website, which does have some information about using GPX files, but there appear to be a lot of restrictions and limitations about what exactly Mapbox can do with a GPX file. I'll stick to CarPlay, since I know it works, and I can easily import full GPX...

Spyder 10.25" Display Models, Firmware V 5.1.0, Android and iPhone BRP Go! Connection for Maps

Some time with Google suggests that BRP GO! supports the following GPS applications: Sygic REVER Genius Maps Sygic and REVER both appear to support GPX files, while Genius Maps does not. That means you can plot a route using a desktop mapping application and then export the route to a GPX...

Spyder 10.25" Display Models, Firmware V 5.1.0, Android and iPhone BRP Go! Connection for Maps

I did wonder if the route planning was any good, but it sounds like there is no offline route planning you can download and share like you can with the Google Maps App.
