• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Range Anxiety Be Damned - Rotopax installed!

Been there, done that on an RT. Note the square on the back in my avatar. Rotopax covered by helmet bag. May want to burp it at least once a day.

    Riding Gear Poll

You left out another "get-off" method, head-on animal hits that throw you over the bars in a 'superman' fly & slide. I did this on a Tiger1200, but it just as easily could have been off the RT. Tore my gloves, pants, jacket, and boots. Funny, no helmet damage. I agree we are less likely to have...

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

Track racers are a different breed. The typical STREET rider isn't dragging knees. For everyone else, you should have no problem staying with 2-wheelers in the twisties.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

If you are a 'spirited' rider, after you get comfortable with the G-forces, You'll find keeping up with your 2-wheeled pals in the twisties to be anything but boring! With the added benefit of embarrassing some of those guys.

Touring on the Canyon? Just got back from 1600 mile trip - my observations...

Age is a number, not a limiter. I didn't have many opportunities to 'tour' when I was gainfully employed. Since I retired I have logged many long distance tours on several different rides. I'm no he-man but at nearly 79, I still take multi-day/week trips a couple times a year. Bottom line: If...

You guys got it all wrong! He was just trying to locate a Can Am dealer.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

If you came off sport tourers (Goldwing, etc.) the RT will feel closest in ergos. With the floorboards, you can position your feet under you and shift them forward to stretch out a bit as needed. Also makes standing up super easy. One tip to a smooth ride is allowing the Spyder to track...

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

My close riding friends call it a 'shopping cart' in jest but they respect that 'it' stays with their Beemers in the twisties and slab runs with no problems. Especially when we park on hills, dirt or gravel!

Is anyone using this ROAR PEDAL CONTROLLER?

I had the Pedal Commander on my RT until I had to bring it in for a repair and set it back to stock. I haven't put it back on since (about 1500 miles) and I notice my gas mileage has GREATLY IMPROVED from the mid-20s to high 30s! Who'da thunk?:eek:

Riding my new to me Spyder from Texas to Maine, seat won't stay up & USB port won't charge - anyone else? Any fixes/ideas/help?

Like ned65 said, the seat piston is too weak and can be replaced with a 30# piston. Some just disconnect the piston and carry a stick to prop up the seat. You'll probably need to install a USB charging port on the handlebars to get enough juice to drive new smart phones.

Will changing out the front shocks help prevent lifting one front wheel in tight corners?

I have lifted the inside wheel off the ground countless times without the Nanny complaining. The more miles I logged, the less the Nanny intruded, to a point now where I think she got deported.

Will changing out the front shocks help prevent lifting one front wheel in tight corners?

The only time I lift the inside wheel is when I don't lean in enough for the G-forces (speed & radius). I have a BR sway bar and Elka S2 shocks all around.
