• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

Thanks for the feedback, at 71, coming off a year of serious illness, getting back to life, the performance of the new to me Spyder is impressive. Quick, comfortable, easy to ride, don't really need all the gadgets but, oh well... the wife and I really enjoy what the Spyder has to offer...

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

Was an ASE mechanic back in the day, working on the new stuff doesn't scare me, unless the gadgets start acting up...

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

Granted a 1330 is a better motor but the 998 is still a very good, powerful plant, especially considering I'm in it for $5000....

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

Found a really clean, 20k mi 2010 RT for cheap... brought it home today. Coming off multiple HD, Honda, etc - 20+ bikes, this thing is awesome! Been on a 600 Ryker for a few months, so what a step up! Easy to ride, quick, still figuring out all the gadgets...

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

Health issues have kept me couch bound... which is about to change. I'm still shopping, will probably go with 1330 motor, lots have really low mileage - some 10 year old bikes have less than 10,000 miles! I looked at a 2018 recently, pretty ride, that had 57,000 miles. Is that too many? Should I...

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

I have about 300,000mi on two wheels, back issues have me on three wheels right now, riding a Ryker and enjoying it, wife and I toured the US and Canada a fair bit... thinking Spyder might be the ticket for us, will probably seek a 1330, thanks for the replies.

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

Spyder shopping, seems like the 998 is a good motor, bikes are way cheaper, is the 1330 that much better? What year did they change to 1330? Thanks!

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

Rotella isn't a 'diesel oil', it's an oil that meets the required specs of those engine builders, and those specs exceed by far what your Spyder needs. It can be and is used in lots of gas motors, and it's not an issue...

    Watch them bumps!

They are all considered fast, passing lanes by most people, especially on 95....feels like a free for all sometimes

    Watch them bumps!

    Wheel bearing race?

    Watch them bumps!

Riding I95 the other day, 70 mph, slow lane... hit a large bump hidden under an overpass... holy ****!! RF wheel came off the ground, severe handlebar shake! I was shocked... it settled quickly, but damn... scary.

BRP side boxes locked, no key, any ideas?

No biggie, it is a Spyder forum... Ryker forum really quiet... Happy trails.

BRP side boxes locked, no key, any ideas?

It's a Ryker, so has a key fob thingie. I drilled out both sides, which took about a minute. Both now open, will source replacement locks, or not... They just hold rain gear and some bungie cords. Thanks.
