• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    BAJA RON shock adjusters

They do not stiffen the spring, they add additional preload to to oem spring. You can adjust the amount of extra preload you desire. This devise increases the topend capacity of the oem spring to prevent the shock from bottoming out. If your oem springs are a bit weak, these should work fine...

Help with choosing the proper spring

Hi cprems, You are right to focus on the suspension to make sure the bike will be a good ride for both of you. With your weight, you will need at a minimum new springs all around (3). Do you have wrenching skills? If so, you can be walked through how to do this. Most Spyder riders will swap...

    2017 F3 SM6 read shock question

You can swap just the spring. You need to know the ID, free length of the oem spring, and spring rating (lb/in). I do not know what the F3 spring rate is; for my 2012 RTS and 2013 ST, I found a 800 lb/in rate spring worked well with my 190 lb solo riding weight. If you have to guess because...

Ford to stop selling sedans in North America

There will be a lag in their return because the low prolonged gas prices drove them under. Investment to get them back on line will be faced with the reality you cite, so that will keep the investors away. Gas prices can get into $5 and stay there a while...

Ford to stop selling sedans in North America

The decision will take a few years to be "done". What I find interesting is what if... gas goes over $5 or $6/gal? Then, the smaller cars would sell in bigger numbers. The medium and large SUVs and some cross-overs sales will suffer. Then, the wisdom of the decision will come back and the...

Read about a 2 up shock, but...

Jim, I think you would be surprised at the ride quality improvement if you just swap the springs in front and rear. You didn't post your combined weight, but based on my experience with the 2012 RTS and your pic, I would say you are looking at 450 (or possibly 500 depending on your combined...

2009 gs rear shock spring replacement

The spring compressor from the auto store is for larger diameter coil springs and do not work well with the smaller diameter springs. I tried those first. They scratched the shock and always left me wondering if they would slip off. 3 ratchet straps work well. Get the beefy endless loop...

David - Remind everyone what you spent to solve your rear suspension challenge. If everyone offering options would put that suggested cost, this will reach closure quickly. Jerry

    F3 Limited Rear Shock

Just change the spring on the shock to gain more capacity. The damping of the shock may not be optimal but is acceptable. A quality spring can be had for less than $100. Jerry

Front suspension upgrade for the 2013 ST LTD.

Rocketgirl, When you say you would like better shocks, can you be more specific on what you are looking for; do you need increased spring rates and/or are you looking for better damping? I have a 2013 ST Limited too and used the slightly longer Fox OEM shocks but upgraded to higher rated...

    Rear Shock Issues

Depending on where you place them in a coil spring; these devices isolate some spring coils (on the short end) and in effect make the spring rate higher. In the pic from the link above, the lower 2 links (or so) are now isolated; you would be riding on the remaining spring above the devices...

    Rear Shock Issues

BitSlayer, Sorry you are going through all of this. Since you ride mostly 2 up, I would suggest you consider a spring change, the oem spring is not stout enough. If your combined weight is 350-400, you should have a 900 lb/in spring in back. The air compressor set up is for ride height and...
