• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need to replace Camshaft Position Sensor, on back-order. Can I Repair?

My thanks to T.P. for alerting me to my error! I mentioned spraying the "cam position sensor" when in fact I meant to say "the gear position [angle] sensor"! I hope my "Geezer" slip didn't send anyone off on a wild goose chase by pulling off their drive pulley's! OK --- Time to go take my...

Need to replace Camshaft Position Sensor, on back-order. Can I Repair?

My Cam Postion Sensor was throwing codes all over the place and then I noticed some oil residue around the unit. Before tackling the job of pulling the pulley wheel for access to the CPS I doused the switch with brake cleaner. It has worked perfectly ever since. It's worth a try ! Just...

Yet another hand brake thread, hopefully with a new twist

I, too, have missed having a handbrake on my 2011 RS-S after over 50 years of two-wheeling. I've followed the posts about both commercial and home-brew handbrakes and after a lot of thought I assembled the attached rig. I bought a master cylinder from Coleman Racing with an external threaded...

Any ideas on why it's Stalling?? Comments?

Just a thought ----- I have, on several occasions, had the vent on the gas cap get plugged up by the dust we all kick up on our travels and merely cleaning the vent solved the problem. Your issue of the motor running for several minutes without issue and then suddenly, being starved of fuel...

Where for Winch points on a Spyder RSS?? --------

I am planning on winching my Spyder from its rear into my truck and was hoping I could draw upon the collective wisdom of the Forum to see if that is a poor choice. My inclination is to use soft wraps around the passenger handgrips and pull from that point since they seem to be very sturdy. I...

Is Back To Black plastic finish good?

I used "Back To Black" cleaner prior to using "Back To Black" protectant on my Isuzu VehiCross, which has a LOT of cladding, well over a year ago and it STILL looks great. It's been garaged since then, so maybe regular use out of doors might have given a different result.

What tools would you put in a Medium sized Tool Roll?

My trusty "Leatherman" Multi-Purpose tool has tackled every roadside repair from a seized brake caliper to electrical problems for several decades. It fits on my belt and is guaranteed for life. I wore one out and they sent a replacement free of charge. What's not to like ?

Age of riders buying a Ryker

Next birthday, I'll be 83 and never dreamed that I'd be back riding a tricycle, albeit a motorized one, like I had when I was 5 ! I simply couldn't trust my old knees, hips and ankles to reliably support riding 2-up on our BMW K-75 safely anymore --- so --- a 2011 RS-S was the solution. We're...

    Increasing Visibility?

The best advice -- and the ONLY piece of advice I offered my son when he threw a leg over his first motorcycle was -- Ride as if you NEVER have the "Right-of-Way" ! It would save a lot of grief for all of us if we all did it -- every time !

Will a bad Gearbox Position Sensor cause a Spyder to run rough?

A note of encouragement about the GBPS switch : My recently acquired RS-S was jumping from gear to gear and displayed the dreaded "E" on the display. Of course, the first thing I did was to go to Spyderlovers.com to investigate possible causes and remedies. Everything pointed to replacing the...

Batteries (again)- Yuasa vs. third party, gel?

The only ODYSSEY AGM battery I have owned was in my recently sold [replaced by a CanAm RS-S] BMW K-75. I believe it was in that bike for at least 10 years and was always kept on a battery conditioner. It never failed to start the K-75 with vigor, and when sold, was still as "spunky" as when...

    New Spyderlover looking for advice

Surprisingly, I found a 2011 RS-S on FaceBookMarketplace with 14k on the odometer ! It turned out to have as many accessories added to it as I paid for the Spyder itself. The previous owner was an accessory-oholic ! It was from a dealer and very well-priced ! it turned out well for me ----...

    What saddlebags are these ?

I knew I came to the right place ! BFromla identified the bags [which I soon found to be the V-35 model] and billybovine alerted me to a special tool. It would be really irritating to find out about that tool when I am sitting with a bad battery and no way to access it ! I have located a...

    What saddlebags are these ?

I just acquired my first Spyder RS-S online, and upon its arrival I discovered that there are no keys for the saddlebags ! I suspect that they are either GIVI or SHAD bags but can find no markings to indicate which they are. I'm resigned to drilling them out, but where do I get the proper...

    trailering a spyder

Actually, I didn't mention the fact that my Ford Super Duty has a fiberglass bed cover that rises hydraulically straight up six feet and parallel to the bed, so, as I did mention before, I could ride my old BMW K-75 up the Gator Ramp and straight up to the cab of the truck. I then strapped it...
