• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Weird Spyder Behavior this afternoon - sudden power loss & 'bucking'! Any ideas?

I started a similar post almost a year ago. Without going into a long tale of woe, my problem ended up being a spark plug, not cables, which at first was intermittent then went solidly bad. 2013 ST limited with 20K. The dealer involved took months to find it. After they changed the plugs it...

2013 Spyder ST new owner, Clutch problem - Any Ideas?

New Spyder owner for 6 weeks. Loving every second of riding. Have ridden over 400 miles in city and freeway in San Diego County. Just joined forum. Thanks to all those that helped with CA engine serial number issue. Resolved. My ST had one owner, only serviced at one shop/dealer in Lost Wages...

Found Engine Serial # on 2013 ST, but CHP does not agree! Any advice?

Good news guys. Thanks for all your help and suggestions. After much scrubbing with a wire brush (7"handle to reach in) some solvent and rags at the end of the brush, I finally could see the correct punched in engine serial number. I will proudly be showing the CHP mechanic in few days. My...

    998cc another clutch chatter

Just read this thread from 07/31/21. Great explanation from Snowbelt Spyder on how the clutch works. Thank you. I have a 2013 ST Limited, 998, SE5, 20K miles, all new factory tires, belt pulleys, upgraded suspension front and back. BRP recommended oil with 1k on the oil. Level good per book...

Found Engine Serial # on 2013 ST, but CHP does not agree! Any advice?

Thanks. I’ve have other issues like clutch bucking in 1st (not the normal clunk) so I’ll break it down a little farther and see if I can find a stamped engine ID.

Found Engine Serial # on 2013 ST, but CHP does not agree! Any advice?

Thank you BajaRon & budC. I did email BRP with the question, but I only got an auto reply. I’ll try harder to find a stamped number. Just means taking more things apart. I really like riding this wild thing, so I’ll do a little more work.

Found Engine Serial # on 2013 ST, but CHP does not agree! Any advice?

Forgot to mention I bought this in Las Vegas. As far as I know, there are only two other states that require an Engine ID verification number. I emailed BRP down in Mexico where it looks like they made the 998. I’ll try a different CHP office. Thanks for the sympathy. CA is crazy sometimes.

Found Engine Serial # on 2013 ST, but CHP does not agree! Any advice?

New to the Forum. Nice to be here. In the manual it shows where the Rotax engine serial number is exactly. Using a flashlight, mirror, and removing 3 covers I could clearly see a raised 7-digit number right where it’s supposed to be. My local CHP mechanic disagrees and says it must be a...
