• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

Then there were those weird bikes like my old Moto Guzzis, whereby the front lever operated one front disk while the brake pedal operated the other front brake disk and the rear. Some BMWs I owned had the front lever apply both front and rear brakes balanced by the ABS system, while the rear...

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

I think the difference in injury accident likelihoods between motorcycles and Spyders is not really relevant. In both cases you don't have a protective crumple zone cage around you, with seatbelts and airbag systems. I suspect that severe accident consequences are closer together in likelihood...

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

I really love all the Spyders I've owned despite any faults or peculiarities they may have/had. I also have a genuine soft spot for most of the bikes and vehicles I have owned in the past it is true. However, some of my past ownership experience has been for truly hateful things and I don't...

Do you get wet riding in the rain?

That's all fine until it's winter and that's ice water. :(

What did you do to/with your Spyder today?

I've been to Tuscon a couple of times. I thought it was hot in Utah. Central and Southern Arizona is just on a completely different level.

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

Have you tried resetting the display to factory settings. It might be because there is some configurable it doesn't like that stops it searching correctly for the updates. I'd do a reset to factory settings, then just try connecting again via your phone hotspot. I cannot think of much else...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

We went out for a ride today and I took more notice than usual about where I put the standard S2S screen. Basically I set it so that I just look over it. It's below my sight line. I look through the top half of my glasses anyway as they are bifocals. This means when I look down I'm using my...

After Information/feedback on the Freedom Windshield for 2020+ Spyder RT's - will it reduce pillion wind buffetting?

I don't know if any of these aftermarket screen vendors test their screens on a Spyder in a wind tunnel with various sized riders and passengers, but I seriously doubt it. I doubt Can Am does it with a stock shield also, since Bombardier was a separate company at any rate. I'm sure that perhaps...

Finally gonna finish my 48 State tour!

It's amazing, even after retiring, how difficult it is to find the time to do long road trips. There's always something on the calendar. We seemed to have more time when the wife and I were working. We've planned out a long road trip for next year and have blanked out time on the calendar for...

Motoeye HUD - anyone share their experiences?

I'm not a fan of devices externally mounted to my helmet. I chose my Shoei helmets because they were designed and certified with my intercom devices installed within the design of the helmet and are essentially flush mounted. When I had a Arai helmet with an external comms device, my wife and I...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

It should be finding at least one update. I’ve no idea if you have to update from V 4.1.0 to V 5.1.0 and the to V 6.1.0, or whether you can go straight from V 4.1.0 to V 6.1.0. In either case, V 6.1.0 is for a NHTSA mandated recall campaign so you very likely want to be on that release ASAP...

Your Weather News @ September 2026 Edition

We’ve had thunderstorms for the past few days. The first big clap of thunder and my cats woke up and looked around. After that they’ve just slept through all the subsequent flashes and bangs. Me, not so much. Opening the fridge door though and if it’s within two hours of feeding time, they’re...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

I presume you meant it froze up on the V 5.1.0 release, not the new V 6.1.0 release. Well I hope that's what you meant?

Using an iPhone with BRP-Go Navigation - Review

The V 5.1.0 update addressed a lot of issues for CarPlay and added BRP Go support. The recently available V 6.1.0 update is supposed to have fixed issues where the display blanks out whilst using the USB and Bluetooth interfaces. I’ve installed both versions and haven’t had any issues using...

I like that route too. Highway 89 is notorious for mudslides as can be seen from the remains of the Town of Thistle which is buried to the rooftops. When Thistle was buried I think it took out the rail road too, for quite a long time. Anything to not use I-15. I wish there was a better way...

Your Weather News @ September 2026 Edition

Yesterday it was thunderstorms all day. Lots of rain and even a bit of hail. Up at the north end of the valley there was a tornado. Fortunately it was at the base of the mountains and didn’t cause any damage to homes. That’s pretty rare for here. Someone was killed by lightning climbing to the...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

Bluetooth can interfere with 2.4GHz WiFi. I’d try disconnecting all Bluetooth connections with the Spyder, if you have any, to see if that makes things better. It seems like perhaps your local 2.4GHz network is very crowded and maybe the signal strength in your garage is low. You might want to...

News at BajaRon's - We Are Moving!

I used to work summers in an industrial laundry as a teenager. We washed roller towels that were popular back in the day. I worked a machine that unrolled the towels into four foot folds and then we tied them up in a bailing machine to be washed in a huge tunnel washing machine. You could not...
