• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for Navigation options besides ACP - What do you recommend?

That’s the bit I like. Whatever solution works best for you be it Apple Maps or a Garmin, the ability to create my route at the start of a day on my laptop and transfer it to the smaller screen is essential to me. My tired old eyes find trying to compose such things on my phone is not so easy...

Do you get wet riding in the rain?

I was raised in the UK, and long before genuine Goretex type gear was available. Everyone had a Barry Sheene (RIP) endorsed Rukka over suit, Rukka over mitts and Derri boots. If it was going to rain, especially in winter, it was likely going to be for days on end. I have a BMW textile adventure...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

My 2026 Sea to Sky was delivered with V 4.1.0. I upgrades to V 5.1.0 after I took delivery. On the 17th I upgraded to V 6.1.0. I wonder if someone who upgraded on the 16th just cannot upgrade again - just can’t, despite the options still showing; or have the online updating menu entries...

    Random thought for the day

I use AI on a daily basis. However, I just use it like an extension of search and don’t trust the results for anything critical without verifying the results. I know AI can do far more sophisticated things than this by spawning bots and having them solve far more complex problems. However, I...

    Fully Automatic Spyder!

In some ways I couldn’t understand why with the advent of the new 1330 cc engine era, why they didn’t fit an automotive style automatic transmission with a paddle shift as well, like most modern cars? At the time the 1330 was introduced other than perhaps Ferrari and Maserati there weren’t that...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

I downloaded mine yesterday. It still showed the Over the Air option as available afterwards. I don’t know whether the stuff on the 16th just doesn’t work, or the option disappears though.

Do you get wet riding in the rain?

I’ve found that the over pants are best. Better than the supposed rain proof Goretex stuff. I bought BMW over suit jacket and pants years ago when I had BMWs but although expensive they’ve kept me bone dry for 10 years now. No wet crotch, I hate that feeling. My wife bought Tourmaster over suit...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

I never had any problems with my display at V 5.1.0 but I can’t get to see if V 6.1.0 does anything differently in the new version as I woke up this morning to thunderstorms and heavy rain. The weather over the mountains is pretty dodgy.

Do you get wet riding in the rain?

You would be surprised how wet you still get on an RT type Spyder. Even on the freeway at 70 mph the fairing is quite effective at keeping the wind and rain off your torso and head, your lower body and outside of your upper arms and shoulders still get wet. The RT looks aerodynamic but I think...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

I went and had my Covid and Flu shots. I came back, plugged the battery tender back in and turned bike bike on. Went to the software update screen. This time it told me it was preparing for downloading as if it were going to be downloading all over again. Instead it quickly flashed installing...

NHTSA Campaign 26V575000 - 2025-2026 Spyder RT, F3, & Canyon freezing cluster fix issued

Down loaded the update V 6.1.0 Pressed the INSTALL UPDATE button. It grey out and did nothing for an hour. Bike is on the charger. Will try again later. I'm letting it sit with the key out, the charger disconnected, and I'll try again in half an hour.

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

Dang, this is going to be fun when I move to Washington, unless they recognize my Utah 3 Wheel trike training class certificate. The Licensing Bureau here in Utah have a problem. You only have to have a motorcycle endorsement to ride a trike. I already have one of those. But I took the trike...

Anyone else had to Insure their Spyder as a 2-wheel motorcycle? Any success changing its designation to a 3-Wheeler?

The other thing is when I took out the Progressive insurance, I did everything online. I keyed in the vehicle make and model as well as the VIN number. It recognized the make and model, though it lumps all RT's together LTD and S2S. It takes the VIN number so they cannot deny they don't know...

Anyone else had to Insure their Spyder as a 2-wheel motorcycle? Any success changing its designation to a 3-Wheeler?

I use Progressive. They cover my 2017 Range Rover, and also my Kendon trailer, and my 2026 Spyder Sea to Sky, whether on the trailer or the road. Quite a few companies didn't know how to handle the Spyder let alone the trailer with a Spyder on it, for that matter. Progressive knew what a Spyder...

    Tennessee Trip - I'm off to BajaRon's!!

These passes are the best value going. My wife and I have got more than our money's worth out it. Yes, we live in Utah so we have many national parks and national forests, so we are spoiled for choice on 3 wheels or 4.

    Ultimate Dealer GREED!

I think the BRP dealers are likely obligated under contract to sell these things at MSRP when performing a service? Perhaps the dealer isn't completely to blame here. Regarding Amazon and Partzilla, who knows what price they get the oil change kits from BRP? I suspect they aren't selling them...

2025 Spyder Sea 2 Sky - Where is the Dedicated GPS Power Plug-in?

I’ve upgraded this to use just one cable, a data cable and now just insert a data blocker when I just want USB power for charging and I’m not using CarPlay. Thanks to those who made the suggestion.

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

Well they did own the British Rover Cars Group for a while, hence they have the Mini brand. It’s a question of degree though. I once had an 1976 MGB GT V8 that leaked more oil than the Torrey Canyon. Despite the liberal coating of oil underneath, curiously, it still managed to rust though.

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

That M4, was it drifting or sliding on its own oil? Sorry, having had a couple of BMWs in the past, I just couldn't help myself.
