• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are the OEM XPS front tires really directional, on '25 S2S?

I'm not saying that the XPS Kenda's are bad. I don't think they've been around long enough to know what their quality is. Kenda is certainly capable of building a better tire. The Kanines are a step above the original OEM offerings for sure. I do think it's suspicious that BRP refers to them as...

Are the OEM XPS front tires really directional, on '25 S2S?

Now that I've been able to look at the tread, I'd say you're fine on this one.

Are the OEM XPS front tires really directional, on '25 S2S?

The directional arrows are stylized, but they are there. Looking at the tread should tell you that they are directional. Looks like someone got them on going the wrong direction.

Are the OEM XPS front tires really directional, on '25 S2S?

XPS tires are just new Kenda offerings. I think Kenda has gotten such a reputation that BRP decided to deflect customers with the new label. But a rose by any other name...

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

I know it seems like a fine point. But all kinds of people come here for information. Someone might get the wrong idea or I'd not say anything at all.

    Conventional vs Reverse Trike Discussion

Well, not exactly. What the OP was referring to is a dedicated front wheel brake that 2 wheelers have. This gives some resistance and allows the rear wheel to break loose more easily. The front brake adaptation for the Spyder you are referring to simply activates the same 3-wheel braking system...

I will ride with anyone who can keep up. I might even wait for you, depending on mood. ;)

Front wheel hop when braking - suspension arm bushes, or... ?? Any help?

Stopping with brakes applied is normally not an issue. Only when you get the system extremely hot will this really matter. This usually requires doing it purposfully. Normal, or even aggressive riding will usually not create a problem. However, if you plan to replace the rotors and pads, I...

Front wheel hop when braking - suspension arm bushes, or... ?? Any help?

What rotors and pads do you have now? When we do a brake job at the shop, we bed in the new pads. This means very hard braking to get them hot enough to begin curing the resin bonding material in the pads. They get quite hot, yet we experience no fade, brake pedal pulsation, or wheel hop. If we...

    Ultimate Dealer GREED!

We've had more trouble with Fed-Ex than any other shipper. Though we've had trouble with all of them. Perfection is reserved for the next life. But that doesn't mean we should not strive for it in this one.

News at BajaRon's - We Are Moving!

I know what you mean. I don't remember my age, but it was fairly young when we used to put up a lemonaid stand in front of our house in Chula Vista. I don't know what we sold it for. Or if we actually made a net profit (though my parents let us keep everything that came in) We did a great...

Anyone else had to Insure their Spyder as a 2-wheel motorcycle? Any success changing its designation to a 3-Wheeler?

I don’t believe it is mistitled. The Spyder is classified as a motorcycle in most states. A 3-Wheeled motorcycle, as is a sidecar.

    Ultimate Dealer GREED!

When I went to pick up my 2008 GS at the dealership in Tampa Bay Florida, they tried to tack on a $500.00 transfer fee that was not mentioned in the 'Out the Door' quote they gave me. I told them 'No way.' They were not happy, but I ended up getting the bike without paying more than the original...

Anyone else had to Insure their Spyder as a 2-wheel motorcycle? Any success changing its designation to a 3-Wheeler?

This is very strange situation. But I can forsee giant issues if there is a claim when you are insured for 2 wheels and you show up with 3. It's the agent's fault, but you may end up with the suffering stick in your corner. I agree with others who advise getting this fixed ASAP.The key here is...

    Tennessee Trip - I'm off to BajaRon's!!

Wow! I'm not even in my new office yet! The guys are busy moving sway bars right now. It's almost all gone from here at this point. The tire changer and balancer went out yesterday. As well as all of my Arai helmet inventory. I've got to move the phones & computers and we'll be officially at the...

We are moving now. Just about everything is out of the old shop. I've got to move the computers, phones, & office furniture. That's about all that is left. I believe we have some sets in now. You can call the shop to check.

News at BajaRon's - We Are Moving!

I may even have room for another mechanic! Maybe we could cut down on the wait time. We'll see. It's a mess right now. But organization should be better with enough space. We were storing tires on top of the office, and packing material on top of the bathroom. Change always creates challenge...

News at BajaRon's - We Are Moving!

We've had a number of panicked customers come into the shop in the last week or so, wanting to know if we are quitting. Hmm... Sounds pretty good to me… I'm the oldest of 5 in our family. All my brothers and sisters are retired. They call to tell me what they are doing and invite me to come...

JC is right. You have to take location into consideration. Employee labor rates, tax rates, etc., can vary from place to place. It's hard to get a 100% apples to apples comparison. And, like I said, we are raising our rates in January.
