• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Sticking brake

Where to start.... seeing as the pressure is even to both fronts I would start with the caliper. Check the piston for grim or such that would keep it from retracting when pressure is released. Check the pin/pins the pads slide on for any grooves the pads can get hung up on. Slip a similar...

    Wows

Here's the thing.. As a information and help site you have to see it as a doctors office. You are hard pressed to find happy people at the doctors office as they are there with problems and looking for answers. We do a good job helping them but anyone just stopping by may feel that that is all...

What experiences have you had with Lithium Batteries?

Depends... This subject has been around for sometime. I know that on the Twins those batteries did not fare well and they were not recommended by many. Now on the newer engines like the 1330, 900 and 600 they may work well as they are easier to start with less of a load. On the Rykers there is...

    Ride out

Refreshing fun..... Sometimes you need the solo ryde to see what you both can do.... I ryde with my wife on weekends and must say she does not limit anything but I do worry when she is with me. On week days I am solo and can open up more. Good you got to have that solo run....

    Determining Best Tire Pressure

Great info above... Noticing the difference is very hard if you are a casual ryder. I have always pointed out that if your steering is feeling heavy your front tire pressure is low but the ryde is comfy...if the steering feels really light and the front end bounces in the corners there is too...

Passenger Backrest for a 2011 RSS

Little checking..... Check with Smoothspyder a vendor on the home page. He has a backrest that can be used for both the driver or the passenger. The BRP one is really hard to find and a rather complicated installation and pricey if you can find it and subject to color matching ....

And so it begins (998's beware)

You are lucky and should not worry. Hang on to this dealer and aftermarket parts will still be around for some time....

And so it begins (998's beware)

Good oportunity... Independents have a good oprotunity to get into this area. There is the issue of the size of the spyder and getting it around tight quarters. I have always recommended getting an appointment and only taking it in then. Better sitting in my garage that some parking lot...

    Speedo placement

Really😲 I have not seen the speedo in action as at the most I have sat on one. I does seem to be quite small but don't know how much display they have on it that would make it hard to read. I would have a problem as i do not like to ryde and take my off the road more than a split second. I only...

    Slingshot

Bummer.....for sure. Sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience with your second spyder RT. Understandably you can no longer ryde worry free along the highway and hope the slingshot will be mechanically better but it is a different ryde. Maybe after a time and some changes in the upcoming...

And so it begins (998's beware)

Thanks mike.... I don't think I need them done but was curious. I always listen to the valves with a mechanics stethscope and as yet hear no difference between them or significant change. Have not seen the shims on the Rotax and in all the ones I have from the years wrenching for Honda, Suzuki...

And so it begins (998's beware)

Most likely as being a big dealer does not make you a good one...Some of the others around here have dropped the line completely and we have an excelent independent shop Pirate Motosports up in Riverside who will undoubtedly continue servicing these models....

They do....but far from detuned they are up to 140 HP and may still be a source as the engines are made in Austria I beleive...

And so it begins (998's beware)

I stopped by a big dealer in these parts with my RS Sm5 2012 today and spoke with their top can am tech. As I now have over 40,000 miles and 950 hours engine time thought I would see about a valve check as I do not have shims for these engines. Basically was told they are not taking on any of...

    Some early 3-wheel vehicle history

Thanks ..... Have a few myself ( pictures that is) and run across some at car events and rydes. After the debate with the introduction of the Slingshot they have now classified them as "Auto Cycles" to keep the motorcycle DOT specifications.... Nice pic's
