• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Referral Fee of $300 to Help Sell My Spyder

Haha - I think it's all about perspective!! Many may be surprised that I couldn't wait to leave Texas (aka the sun) but the heat just sucks the energy out of me. Plus I'm a water baby so I like the rain, but the real gem of Seattle is the scenery and activities for us!! I'd love to hear any...

It's with a heavy heart that I have decided to sell my beloved Spyder! My wife and I are moving to Seattle and we need another car with a roof! I have met a lot of great people at SpyderQuest and other places, and not to mention this board. And while I'm selling, it doesn't mean I'm...

    Wind Chill

Partially correct. That formula is the old formula that is a bit aggressive. The currently accepted formula is a bit more complicated but the following link has a calculator. So, for your variables the old formula shows it to be about 10 F, whereas the new formula is 23.8 F. Still cold, and I...

    Seattle Info Needed

My wife and I are evaluating a lot of things in consideration of a relocation to Seattle. Here's a few questions regarding the Spyder: 1) how's the Spyder environment in the NW? 2) what's the riding season? Thanks

    HUD for Spyder

Has anyone tried a Heads Up Display (HUD) on the Spyder windshield? There are devices, such as Navdy, Garmin HUD, and others that sit on the dash and project an image up to the windshield which you can then see. I'd be curious to whether anyone has tried this out. I'd really love to get one...

Sound off if you got home safe from SpyderQuest

About 5,000 miles round trip, 14 States and 2 Countries I am now back in Texas from SpyderQuest! I pulled into my garage about 8pm on 9/16. What a fantastic experience, beautiful scenery and tremendous friendships. On our way back from Lake George, I stopped off in New York City and explore...

    SpyderQuest 2015

A quick review of SpyderQuest 2015… this was my second year attending and I have to say this year was phenomenal! 2014 was a bit cold and rainy, but 2015… wow!!! First, let me start by giving the BIGGEST SHOUT OUT possible to the organizers and NY Spyder Ryders – the event was first class...

    Netzley Tires Recommendation

I want to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to Netzley Tires. I rode up from Texas both last year and this year for SpyderQuest in Lake George, NY. Last year they installed a sway bar and this year they did an oil change. But the big THANK YOU is for the rear tire we won at the closing...

    Aftermarket Seat Review

There’s many threads talking about seats, etc. Well, I’ve earned my stripes and will give you a quick review. In 2014 I rode 4,500 miles round-trip from Texas to Lake George, NY for SpyderQuest. I did this trip on a stock seat on a ’13 STS. I did add an Airhawk cushion as I knew the seat...

    Moving to TX....

The VA is south south Dallas! I'd look at Forney or possibly Rockwell. Depends on what you want and the environment. I live IN Dallas and love it. If you're worried about commutes then log onto google traffic during rush hours every day to get a feel for congestion. Good luck on your move -...

998 Tinging Noise from Cat Conv

Thank you! There's good and bad - the good was I was able to get the oem muffler dollars applied to the akrapovic and with the rebate, it ended up being free! The bad... I have to diagnose this annoyance, but I'm blessed to have gotten a great muffler, so I can probably deal with it until I...

998 Tinging Noise from Cat Conv

I took my '13 STS into the shop because there was some tinging noise coming from underneath. After persistently annoying them they finally said they thought the baffles on my exhaust were loose. So, they replaced the muffler. I still believe there is a bit of noise coming from around the Cat...

    helmets

If you google your question you'll find a couple of research results, so based on aerodynamics and acoustics the two quietest helmets on the market are: Schubert and Shoei RF-1200. I have a Shoei-RF1100 and my next helmet will be the 1200. I like the schuberts but not the modular design...

    Restaurant from SpyderQuest 2014

Does anyone recall the restaurant we ate lunch at during the Adirondack ride last year at SpyderQuest? It was an outdoor place under a large tent with picnic tables.
