• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    why i purchased my spyder

That is crazy! My brother had a V65 magna the same time as I did. His friends gave him a hard time too (probably because they couldn't keep up!) He is now in his 3rd Harley (still looking for a good one?) and doesn't ride any of them as much as he did his Honda. They will even go to Daytona Bike...

    why i purchased my spyder

:congrats: My last bike was a Honda Valkyrie and I loved it! Unfortunately back surgery slowly took the fun away for me. It was a very heavy bike and although I loved it it wasn't really safe for me to drive. After selling it I thought that was the end. As some of you can probably relate to, It...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Since we have snow here already, I winterized it and stored it away over the weekend. So all I did today was go out to the garage to see if it was still there.

Do People Think Our Spyders Are Scooters Or Something?!?!

Had a similar comment "hey the training wheels are in front instead of the back." Since he was driving a car I couldn't resist telling him that he has one more wheel than I do!

    I know its me but......

Exactly the same here. I remember at about 1500 miles for me it felt like I had a different bike! You can try the push-pull with the handlebars, for me what helped was when I was taking a left turn I firmly planted my right foot on the floorboard because that is where your weight will go (the...

Parking brake alarm going off after key shuts off

Thanks, I should have mentioned the indicator for the brake was on? When I tried switching back and forth the indicator never went off, maybe just a one time glitch???? Good to know it will only last 30 seconds - if it happens again I won't have to put gas in like I am in a pit crew!

Parking brake alarm going off after key shuts off

I stopped to get gas and turned the key to off. My brake alarm started going off! I tried turning the key on and off again, then tried setting and resetting the parking brake but nothing worked. I ended up just putting some gas quickly so I could start it up again and it was fine. Is this a...

    Purchasing a Spyder

I'm sure they would mention it, but a warranty or extended warranty is always good for peace of mind.

Migrating From 2 Wheels To 3 Wheels

I think we all wondered at one time if we made a mistake getting the Spyder. Everything is different at first, but you will get used to it and feel more comfortable every ride. For me it was about 1500 miles, I remember feeling like I had a different bike! So don't worry you will get used to it.

    Finally pulled The Trigger.

I remember that feeling :ohyea: On two wheels you are always in the same plane. On the spyder you are spread across the lane and notice every crown and bank in the road. Having that "tippy" feeling doesn't exactly bring confidence but it does go away!

    Finally pulled The Trigger.

:congrats: Not saying you shouldn't get a sway bar, but I would wait 1000-1500 miles before any major changes. That is about the time it takes to get the feels of the 3 wheels ;)

    Became an owner today.

:congrats: Having something different was an attraction for me also.

    Is it Possible

Exactly what I thought! I know at about 1500 I felt like I had a new bike. I think everything just came together and I was more comfortable, funny how you notice the difference from one ride to the last one.

    No more dark storage compartment

Sorry about that I noticed a curvature too, but pressed real hard and it worked OK. Maybe try some thicker double sided tape to avoid the curvature?

    The Elephant in My Room

I understand what you say about the reliability issues, what scares me is how hard it is to find a knowledgeable dealer in my area, yet on the road in a strange area. Maybe we could get some kind of a network through this forum that has members volunteer their city, phone number, and even...

    I guess I'm a motorcycle guy

WOW, I sold my Valkyrie before getting the Spyder. Must really be different going from one to the other, they are certainly different machines.
