• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

For all of us who get the Output Shaft replaced, I'd suggest that you: check the belt to driven pulley alignment and the belt tension. It seems that it's a hit or miss proper adjustment with some dealer's techs.

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

I hope that anyone who gets the output shaft recall done gets back here to tell us how it went with your dealer and the tech who worked on it. It'd be nice to see a photo of the Output Shaft Kit that Can Am supplies. What I worry about most is the engine needing to be removed to make the repair...

2022 RT Ltd - fan ran the entire ride home & then would not shut off, even when I shut off the Spyder - anyone else? Any ideas?

During the VERY HOT summer of 2021, on my 2018 F3, I too had the problem of the fans not turning on. Sure enough, it was the relays. I purchased the relays (both left fan and right fan same as OEM) from Amazon and the fans have been operating normally ever since. Here's what you look for on...

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

    * Thanks Ron. I always trust your judgment and knowledge. * What do you think about just changing out the filter before reaching the 9K?

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

    * I recently changed to Amsoil 10-40 Metric * I can now go 9,000 miles before an oil change * I put about 3K+ miles a year on my 2018 F3L * It takes me three years to go 9,000 miles Questions: * Is it smart to run that oil for three years before a change? * Should I just change out the filter...

Where did you get your "Handle"?

Earned my Nick Name "Vito" one night in the spring of 1968 on LZ Betty three klicks outside the ancient capital of Vietnam Quang Tri, in I Corps, close to the DMZ. There were four of us troops who hung out in a Conex Box after hours. One my buddies, Pat, was a virtual encyclopedia of movies...

How likely are Gang encounters on the road?

    * Why start off buying TWO RT's? * I suggest buying ONE RT, learn the machine riding SOLO then graduate to riding TWO UP. * IF that doesn't work for you, then purchase a second RT. * ONE RT though, will be able to move the TWO of you comfortably for long distances.

What Max Temp Reading have you seen for ambient air on your Spyder?

My 2018 F3L has always read up to 4 degrees above ambient. A quick mental calculation puts it into a proper ambient perspective.

Want to make it easier to remove the bugs - what wax should be used, if at all?

A way to "dissolve" bugs, and their related spatter, is to first spray the area with Hydrogen Peroxide. Bugs will literally "foam" up and will be very easy to wipe off. Like others here have said, use what ever type of wax or protectant works for you. The peroxide will not harm anything.

Rear brake pads frustration - any ideas on how to loosen all the Loctite??

A bit of heat on the bolt head should make that yellow Loctite loosen.

Sure, give it a try to see what works for you.

How many of you have had Parking Brake motor failures?

Isopedella: I just put as much slack in the cable as I could get. There's really not a whole lot of slack available to begin with as you'll see. In my situation, there is still plenty of "grab" on brake pads to the rotor. I have no worries about the machine rolling away.

How many of you have had Parking Brake motor failures?

It's a well know problem as you'll see as others chime in, or not, about the problem. In 2021, the parking brake on my 2018 F3Ltd would not release and got the code specific to the problem. I got out the shop manual to see how things worked. I decided to in put ALL THE SLACK I could on the...

    Ultimate floorboards or smaller floorboards?

Having an F3L, with the Ultimates, they don't come with pegs and I never ride -aggressively- so I can't answer that question for you.

Anyone tried the Hornet Electric Deer Whistle?

Did I just read the name David Hough? I believe it's the first time I've ever heard his name, or a suggestion of one of his intelligent/profound motorcycling books, mentioned here at SL. BRAVO Columbia!
