• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    A QUICK COMPARASIN

Huh? The title of this particular forum is "Spyder General Discussion". Why would someone bring up such a subject that has absolutely nothing to do with the title and purpose of the forum? Many interesting and highly useful internet forums on the internet have been destroyed by injecting highly...

    NO TOWING

An aftermarket hitch that the manufacturer specifically warned against using for engineering reasons will almost certainly void the warranty for suspension and power train components. However, the dealer is motivated to please the customer. It is a simple matter for them to submit a warranty...

    Value Accessories

My only experience My only experience with Value Accessories was the purchase of some hardware to mount my GPS or smartphone between the handlebars. I was surprised by how quickly I received the stuff. I didn't need any customer service because the instructions that came with the kit were quite...

    Complaint Forum

My Perspective I stumbled across Spyderlovers when I was researching 3 wheeled vehicles back in the summer. After reading the huge volume of negative comments, I almost crossed the Spyder off my list. If you don't know who is a hater and who is an honest rider, it is easy to get the impression...

will someone put up some positive stories about the spyder

I am sort of expecting to get 100,000 miles on each of my Spyders (if I ever get another one). ;)

Called BRP about disparity of the break in mileage recommendations

I am curious as to who it was at "BRP" you talked to. Surely nobody at the tech support office for Can Am products would have given you such bad information.

    Complaint Forum

I don't understand this post. Are you advocating a new forum for people to post complaints about this website?

    Ride ended abruptly today

Can Am Spyders are still fairly new on the market (say compared to Honda motorcycles) and BRP is just now getting enough experience to build a truly great 3 wheel vehicle. I like the concept and current RT-S model so much that I was willing to accept some amount of reliability problems just to...

    PUT ON YOUR THINKING HATS

How about an adjustable handlebar riser/extension kit for the RT that is inserted between the current 4 bolt mount and the handlebars. The Can Am handlebar accessory is just too expensive.

    STILL RIDING ??

We just got back from a 3 hour ride today. Clear blue skies, light wind and 68 degrees. I came in, sat down, started reading Spyderlovers and saw this thread. I can ride at least a little every month of the year. What has got me down is that it isn't a good time to take week+ long trips because...

    Ride ended abruptly today

I would have to say that all of my Goldwings were about as reliable as a Camry. When I traded in my 1997 with 80,000 miles on it, I would have felt no hesitation in starting out on a 10,000 mile tour that day.

    Ride ended abruptly today

Having had a couple of friends who bought and rode new BMWs, one of whom is a BMW mechanic, I do not agree with the assessment that BMWs are the most reliable motorcycle.

    who's third brake light?

You must have seen this unit installed on someone else's Spyder. I followed the link above and if I didn't already know what they were selling, I wouldn't have the slightest clue as to what it was from the photos and videos. There was no explanation as to where or how it is installed. If they...

    Arm Rests

Pictures Hey Bob, I found this web page on their website which has some pretty good pictures. http://www.diamondraccessories.com/canamspyder/proddisplaymultipic.php?name=Spyder%20Passenger%20Tubular%20Armrest I think the armrests that fold all the way into the rear seat is a nice feature.

    Anyone gone from a GL1800 trike to a 1330 RT SE6

Yes Bob, that is very true. When I first started looking for an RT-S the 2013's were still plentiful and at very low prices. I decided to buy a 2014 instead partly due to the heat issues but also because of the reduced maintenance. It just seems to me that the 2014 is a "charmed" model year for...

    GPS or VZ Navigator?

Some observations Here are a few comments from a new Spyder RT-S Ryder. I have used both a Samsung Galaxy IIIS and a Garmin Nuvi XXX mounted in the center of the handlebars and both work well for audio directions with a Bluetooth headset. The screen on the smartphone washes out completely in...

New 2014 RT SE6 with maintenance issues. Could use some advise.

What a contrast with what my service manager said. I told him I like to do my own maintenance and he said to come into the shop when they do the first service and he will demonstrate how to do the routine stuff like changing oil. He also said I was welcome to come in the shop and watch them do...

    Anyone gone from a GL1800 trike to a 1330 RT SE6

It isn't just the problem of removing body panels. There are just a lot more maintenance items to do. Just download and read the owner's manual. Furthermore, maintenance parts and materials are more expensive and harder to find. Compare the cost of oil filters and you will see what I mean...

    Arm Rests

If I am seeing this correctly, the second photo shows a plate highlighted in yellow that is attached under the seat using existing holes and possibly fasteners and the arm rests are attached to the plate in some way. Yes? That seems like a pretty sturdy way to mount the arm rests.
