• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Well, that's off my shoulders.

Really really REALLY can't wait to ride one. I'm definitely a "standard" guy-- modified my RS to an RT/ST-like position early on-- but I wasn't offended by sitting on the F3 at the motorcycle show. It felt plenty comfortable to me (especially that cannonball seat ), just different...

    Interesting read

I saw that, too-- but New Zealand prices. I'm guessing the Kiwis hate Canada. :dontknow:

    Up-Date

Yeah, I think the solution is going to be someone coming up with aftermarket luggage brackets to adapt other saddlebags. When larger (and nicer) Harley (!) bags are nearly half the price as BRP's, you just know there is going to be a healthy aftermarket for F3 storage. Heck, I used to think...

    Electric Spyder? By Polaris??

Yeah, just a typo/misfire. Saw today that Polaris trademarked the term "Victory Charger" associated with electric bikes, so that's probably where their minds are going. As for the Spyder hybrid, my conspiracy theory back in the day was that it was a tax writeoff to get subsidies from the...

Owners Event Info you've been waiting for

In my VERY humble opinion... I'm skeptical. Whereas one single BRP owner's event inevitably and unavoidably left some people unhappy because they could not attend, restrictive vendor rules, etc., I don't see the answer now being *seven* owner's events semi-randomly selected across the country...

IT'S BACK. This was for sale a little while ago but we are sure it is a scam!!

Here's what I don't get-- why don't the eBay scammers at least *try* to make them appear like they're not a scam? If I wanted to scam somebody out of a Spyder, I'd start by not lowballing the price, or even better, put it on a bid with a low reserve. I know a sucker is born every minute, but...

    SM VS SE

On two wheels, I go manual. Scooters freak me out, without the ability to slip a clutch I get all squirrely in the parking lot. :sour: On four wheels, I go manual. I have fun rowing gears on a car, although yeah, it's a PITA in city traffic (which unfortunately has been the story of my...

    Is it possible.......

All the (known and assumed) demographics of Spyder owners strongly suggest that the RT will continue to be the biggest seller. BRP may advertise like mad to the younger crowd-- love those catalog models, guys!-- but let's be honest: the Spyder market skews older than any other bike...

    F3 aftermarket

I'd be shocked if Madstad didn't come out with an F3 mount-- they make windshields for everything.

Patent filed for new Honda leaning reverse trike

If they use an open-air front end like the Yamaha 01GEN concept or the aftermarket Tremoto design, they can probably get quite a bit out of a 750 without having a giant frunk's-worth of plastic forcing air aside. Secret is keeping it "tight and light". That said, that 750 is already like the...

Patent filed for new Honda leaning reverse trike

Based off their NC platform... hmmm. :coffee: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/honda-files-patents-for-leaning-three-wheeled-motorcycle/26164.html

Does this look too good to be true? 2012 RT for $9100.

    Scammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :bbq:

i Test Rode the F3 today

RE: windshields, I wouldn't sweat it-- I'm guessing the aftermarket options will be available soon enough (if I get an F3, I'd definitely want a Madstad like on my RS, once available).

Installed the Yoshimura R-77 and it is......

The Yoshi's one of the more "civilized" pipes available for the Spyder, which is why I chose it. With the baffle in, my Yoshi isn't any noticeably louder than my stock exhaust was, just a far more pleasing note. (Couldn't stand it with the baffle out-- I'm most definitely NOT a loud pipes guy...

No luck Selling Spyder - should I part it out?

Yeah, the resale value is :cus: on Spyders for a number of reasons, some to be expected, others not so much: 1. New product without much of a sales history. This is an unavoidable drag, and it will be for many years to come-- Spyders ain't Harleys or Beemers. Just ask Hyundai how long it...

No luck Selling Spyder - should I part it out?

Agree with the above-- the more you can make the Spyder look stock in the photos, the better chance you'll have to sell it. Just throw in the mods as extras, or part it out. Other advice, YMMV: -- If you haven't yet, try eBay and CycleTrader as well, you'll get national exposure. -- Is the...

Random thoughts RE: Progressive Motorcycle Show and F3

Heh, that's actually a really good point! I have to really stretch on my RS to get my toes to the ground, i.e. it's a deliberate motion. Being lower, gotta remember, feet stay *up*

    tried a Slingshot

At the DC show, the Polaris rep noted that as a bike you can register it in certain states that allow residents of any state to register there, e.g. you can't yet register it in Maryland either, apparently, but Virginia lets anybody anywhere in the U.S. register in VA so that's what they're...

Random thoughts RE: Progressive Motorcycle Show and F3

Went to the motorcycle show this weekend in D.C. Smaller than in previous years, but still plenty of neat bikes, and of course the star of the show, the F3. I don't have much to say that hasn't been said already, but since this was the first time I ever had a chance to see and sit on one in...

    the youngest

I was 36 when I first bought my Spyder back in 2011, does that count? BTW, nobody ever told me that 40 would feel like this... I want a refund. :joke:
