• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My new Daylong saddle by Russell

+1 on RDL seats. I've ridden them on various bikes over the past 20+ years, and my new RDL seat for my 2020 RT will arrive in 4 days. I had leather insert on my last bike (BMW R1200RT) and chose to go back to vinyl insert on this one due to higher maintenance with leather. Looking forward to...

Discussing Throttle-by-wire, throttle response, and Pedal Commander 'improvements'

Back on topic: I bought and installed the pedal box on my 2020 RT. I can't explain why, but I can say that trying the box on/off and at all various settings, the output of power from the engine is gained with less throttle twist, and the "red" setting makes throttle input very "touchy". In...

Is a Spyder a motorcycle, trike or something else?

 According to the followingL The Spyder has a motor(engine); The rider sits astraddle the vehicle, not in it; The Spyder is a cycle and has 3 wheels and is called a "reverse trike"; The Spyder is therefore a Motortrike specifically, or a Motorcycle generically. It's a Can Am Brand, if...

    Vredestein Quatrac 5 news

Both comments align with my actions. I only posted that the Quatrac 5 was discontinued (thinking it was news). The tire has over 11,000 miles on it, so I plugged it and will ride it until the tread is gone. But I did order a new Quatrac yesterday to have on the shelf, just in case.

    Vredestein Quatrac 5 news

FYI....Vredestein's reply to my inquiry trying to find a Quatrac 5 rear tire for my 2020 Spyder RT (205/60/R15): Thank you John for your email. We no longer make the Quatrac 5 in that size. It has moved over to the Quatrac tire. My current rear tire has a tiny hole which I've plugged, so am...

Almost-winter looks like this in Alabama

I shivered reading "Wmoater"'s post! Lived in Denver area 6 years and left my snow shovel behind when I moved to south Florida....the Colorado snow melt slush of chemicals/cinders is embedded in my memory. ARtraveler...I'll be coming to your neck of the woods in June...Harrison... for a...

Almost-winter looks like this in Alabama

With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas season looming, the temps suddenly dropped from the 70's to the high 20's in Alabama, presenting these scenes at The Treehouse (Outside vs inside)....both with their own beauty..........I wish everyone wellness and looking forward to each day with a grin...

2021 RT Base rear Air Shock Losing air -anyone else?

Late, but my 2020 RT base rear shock bladder was losing air. I tested with soapy water and found nothing. Finally replaced the schraeder valve itself and no more leaks.

48 States in 27 Days at Age 84

Home at last. I felt like a sailor, home from the sea, but not quite ready for Robert Louis Stevenson’s poem, Requiem. Nicely said, and glad you made it home safely! I've checked total miles ridden per day and am in wonder how you ride 400+ days back-to-back-to back....I did that in July for...

Are these torque specs for rear axle, rotor, & calipers correct?

Good stuff ISO....removing the rear wheel on a Spyder RT is MUUUUCH more difficult than on my BMW RT! but once the learning curve is done, it's not so bad.

How's this for Battery Life on our 2014 Spyder RTL!

How would one know how long a battery lasts unless finding oneself suddenly unable to start the vehicle? Anything short of that means replacing the battery before it's completely dead, right? So, I reckon we're discussing how much of a gambler each of us are. Call me "too quick to pull the...
