• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A Springtime weekend ride in the South

My destination? Southeast from North Central Alabama, to include southern Georgia and North Florida. (The day prior, I'd lunched at The Funky Goat in Dadeville Alabama, my second visit with that quaint little diner on the town square.) Back to the ride: After removing the pollen blanket from...

If Einstein was right when he posited that there is no matter, that everything is just energy... I have wasted a LOT of time chasing energy!

    Random thought for the day

A Daily Struggle I was driving alone today, talking out loud, when Ego asked: "To whom are you talking John?" I replied: "To the only person who will listen to me." Id laughed and muttered: "Fooled him again!" Superego just rolled his eyes and went back to sleep.

2022 OEM RT S2S seat versus redone Russell Day Long seat.

Betting you're gonna love it! I had RDL add 1" to the height of my seat when they built it, and (just for info), the heat works great too.

    Little River Canyon Ride

I went over to N. Georgia to ride and wound up in Alabama... go figure! The Little River Canyon National Preserve in NE Alabama is the tail of the Appalachian Mountains, running along the top of Lookout Mountain near Ft Payne AL. Some say it's the nation's longest river running on top of a...

Rear mud flap rubbing & melting!

UPDATE. With temps up, I re-installed the shortened mud flap. But the holding tabs didn't hold, so I wound up drilling and installing 3 push-pins the size of those on each side of the frunk. All tight and sturdy now.

    Today's ride - Columbia, Alabama

A short ride today to meet a friend for coffee in Columbiana, Alabama (a hoot and a holler south of Birmingham). These twin spires in the morning sun caught my eye as I rode along Main Street... formally known as "Silk Stocking Road".

Rear mud flap rubbing & melting!

Thanks. The rear tire is Vredestein 205/60R 15... so, a little narrower and a little higher profile. For what it's worth, the mud flap got knocked loose and damaged by a speed bump.

Rear mud flap rubbing & melting!

I recently found on my 2020 RT base that the rear mud flap was loose....I remember hearing a noise when going over a speed bump in a neighborhood a few days ago, but thought nothing of it. I cut off the lower 3+inches of the flap since it was damaged, and hope I have no more issues with it...

Can anyone with a Big Blue Lift provide advice on my lifting issues?

krklehd1-- I have the Big Blue lift and use it on my 2020 Spyder RT. Here are my comments after multiple times of lifting the Spyder: The lift will lift the Spyder to the height advertised, and it's a quality build; A high-torque, low speed drill motor was required for me; Be careful not to...

Looking at a 2020 Spyder - is this high mileage? Any thoughts?

I have a 2020 RT base with OEM top case. 30,000 miles on it now and 2020 was a good year with model upgrades. I would have loved to find a 2020 with 57,000 miles for $10, 000!! Agree with Mikey..."go for it"....

Dash went black & I couldn't shift - blown fuse! No idea why...

Yes, the whole assembly rides in the weather. And yes, I did put a little dielectric grease in the connector... although the male part of the connector has double o-rings to seal the joint. The actual piston that slides in/out of the solenoid has an accordion rubber boot that is tight on...

Dash went black & I couldn't shift - blown fuse! No idea why...

On January 5 I replaced the "reverse actuator assembly" p/n 219800522 on my 2020 Spyder RT STD. Procedure: Raise Spyder about 18" Remove ALL left side body panels, including floorboard and passenger foot peg. (The solenoid is just inboard of the side frame behind the lefthand floorboard, with...
