• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP denies warranty claim on water in fuse box - any ideas on next steps?

My 2018 had a frunk with about 3 inches of water in it after a particularly nasty 36 hours of rain while parked on a trip through the Smokies. A buddy who was on the trip and owned the same RTL suggested it was a poorly seated gasket on the fuse box and, sure enough, it is what it was. Dealer...

    Where did you start?

My first "bike" was a 2005 Tomas Moped... 50cc motor kited to do 70kph. I was turning 50 and decided if I didn't learn to ride now... when would I?? Bought a 2008 Honda Shadow Aero as my first actual bike... Learned to ride and while still a novice took a run from Toronto to Glacier/...

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

Three years ago, I was riding a 2009 Yamaha Venture which I was finding increasingly difficult to handle at low speed/parking lot maneuvors.... last straw was when I caught my boot on the seat dismounting it and tipped it over.... avoided it landing on me but managed to rip both hands open on...

    Where did you start?

2005 Tomas 50cc moped that was modded so it would do 70kph... For my 50th birthday I bought myself a 2008 Honda Shadow Aero 750 and got my licence on it (actually rode from Toronto to Glacier, Yellowstone, Beartooth and Sturgis while still on myn beginner's licence.. how's that for starting?)...

Dealer claimed they couldn't release my Spyder if it failed the sprocket wear test!

It is why I checked if they had the "temporary fix" parts in stock before I brought mine in... otherwise I would've been 3 hours from home without a ride!

    Another new member from Ontario

I drive 3 hours each way to Courtland for my servicing... they seem to be one of the better shops in southern Ontario to deal with for sure. Your S2S will get here eventually, and you'll love it!! Take it from a guy who shifted from a Yamaha Venture 3 years ago and has never looked back!

SPROCKET RED DUST, recall inspection results ?

2018 RTL with 34,000km on it... mine tested within specs, dealer doubts they will have the final parts available until fall sometime, put on recall list for when they come in. Only downside is nearest dealer is a three hour ride from my house... only good thing is the dealer is a three hour ride...

So, what do y'all consider "touring"?

If I have any luggage other than raingear or work clothes I have to change into, it is touring.

Is training really needed to ride a Spyder?

I bought mine sight unseen as well. After a couple decades riding 2 wheels, at 65 I was finding the weight of my Yamaha Venture to be a bit much in parking lot situations. I had guys I ride with who have Spyders but I had not ridden one; had not even sat on a RT. Found a fabulous deal on a demo...

    Leaving key in ignition

Whenever my spyder is at home in the garage the key hangs on a lanyard (actually both keys, on seperate lanyards) inside the front door of the house. Never have to worry about looking for it when it has become such an ingrained habit. The keys for my car, along with those for my wife's and sons'...

What's everyone wearing for Riding Jackets?

BRP Cruise in high vis for shoulder season, Vega mesh jacket for hot weather, Oxford Montreal 2 for when it is quite cool (longer than the Cruise) and a Motocentric 1 piece for days below the freezing mark but no ice or snow.

Fuel (GAS) price where you live

Here in Southern Ontari-owe Canada regular today is $1.84 a liter, Premium up somewhere above $2.00.... so roughly $6.00 or $6.75 US a US gallon. If you are lucky enough to live near a First Nation/ Reserve with a gas station you can knock about 30 to 50 cents a liter off those prices as they...

Is the Canadian Trucker convoy affecting Can Am deliveries?

The border disruptions have only been a week or so, so there would not be much effect on deliveries yet .... it does mean that parts going to the factory in Quebec and machines coming back out will be affected, perhaps by a week or two, assuming our Prime Minister decides to actually do...

Compare a 500 mile ride on a Spyder with same on 2 wheels?

I have done many a 500+ mile day over the years on a succession of 2 wheel bikes... Harleys, Hondas and Yamahas. In 2019 after a couple near catastrophies on a Yamaha Venture, I bought a 2018 RTL... never even sat on one before. Flew the 900+miles/ 1500Km to where the bike was and rode it home...

    Wrong Road!

    Russian Version of the Spyder

I drove a Lada for about 2 years back in the mid-eighties..... suprisingly good car if you didn't mind things like the window crank snapping off in your hand! plus it came with a tool kit that, I understood, was issued in all Russian cars so you could pull off and fix anything on your car on the...

New guy here from Ontario Canada

which was your most spectacular tour ??

The first year I rode a 2 wheel bike (still only had a learner's permit) I rode a Honda Shadow Aero 750 with an experienced rider friend from Toronto to Alberta, down to Glacier and the Going to the Sun road, then meandered down to Yellowstone through Kalispell, the "Big Hole", and then out over...
