• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

I forgot about that nut when I did the install. Found it as you see it. Pretty sure that’s the whistle I’ve been hearing!!! 😳 I don’t think that nut is really needed to hold the screw into the lid. I elected to go without it being in there and put it all back together. It is, of course...

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

Holy S$@T! Well... I don’t need to DM you. I see my issue just from the photo... I’ll eat my humiliation pie on this one... FML, I know what I did and I must have been half asleep when I did it. Crap.

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

Hi BajaRon! I’m not intending any negativity. I was recounting as best I could. My call in was about a month+ ago? I bought the kit maybe 2-3 months ago and after I installed it and noticed the whistle I called in to see if there was a thing. The call wasn’t long. Quickly wrapped up and my take...

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

Excellent heads up! I have a cat-delete coming in. Will be stripping the bike when it does. I will definitely be looking into the throttle body plate suggestion! Ty!

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

I called when I first put on the system. Was told that a whistle is bound to happen because the inlet to the throttle body isn’t tapered… Or at least that’s the version I heard in my head… Anyways, bc I’m in the mountains, with my wife on board, and with all our gear, the whistle seems to have...

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

Long day.. 400+ miles. It’s definitely a whistle! I suspect if I play with the filter’s position and the tension on the lid that holds the filter in place that I can change the air flow or air flow amount to reduce the whistle or at least shift it to a less prominent RPM range... If that...

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

2011 RT 998 engine. I installed the intake system from BajaRon and I now have an inherent whistle at 4,500 RPMs -5,500 RPMs - revs which tend to also be my cruising revs (60-65mph-ish). Before I take the whole darn bike apart, has anyone else battled this? And if so, do they have tips or...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Installed a Pedalbox Pro on my 2011 Spyder RT with the 998 engine. The first test run was wild! In Sport+ mode, I genuinely almost came off the handle bars because it accelerated with such a punch. After playing with the settings, I left it on Sport and up 'one tick.' That seems to have the...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Figured I'd just dump this all here... I have finally completed all the modifications to my 2011 Spyder RT SE5 and figured I'd list the improvements from best to worst for others who may still be tinkering with their 998 models. 1. First and Foremost, IF YOU HAVE A 998... Hunt down...

    Are these Tires too old?

I was changing out my brakes this weekend and while the tires were off I saw the DOM of my tires! 2010! These are the OEM tires. I'm the second owner of a 2011 Spyder RT that has 10,000miles. (PS. The rear brake pads were the only ones that NEEDED replacement... but I did all three...

RT insulation deterioration... Yuck and Wild! Anyone else??

Unfortunately I can’t give a viable answer. I had put in a new air intake that is significantly louder than stock at the same time I decided to strip the gross insulation out. But I noticed NO temperature change to the rider…

RT insulation deterioration... Yuck and Wild! Anyone else??

Went ahead and replaced those two map hoses while I was in there. Without the air box it makes the bike infinitely easier to tinker on. Sounds great too!

RT insulation deterioration... Yuck and Wild! Anyone else??

Okay, I have been lurking on this site for a long while and recently decided I was going to get back into the hobby of spinning wrenches. I took a loooonnngggg break from playing 'junior mechanic' but my midlife crisis came calling, and here I am! That all said, I wanted to give my 2011 RT...

Here's the word on Spyder RT Radio Outputs direct from The Manufacturer!

Good morning folks! I have been trying to determine how best to upgrade the speakers on my 2011 998 V-Twin engined RT. I searched high and low through all the forums for the radio outputs and couldn’t find them. I finally went ahead and emailed the manufacturer and below is the response I...
