• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New forum for our Down Under friends

Queenslanders are usually referred to as “Banana Benders”, Paul. QLD produces something like 90% of Australia’s bananas, and other states joke that they grow straight when they are on the tree, so to make them more attractive, huge numbers of Queenslanders are employed to bend them before...

I fixed all of my clocks this morning and then I started my Spyder... :(

Ahhhh. Thanks Peter. So it happened from pretty much the beginning until '18... wow. Pete

I fixed all of my clocks this morning and then I started my Spyder... :(

Not a battery problem around those 2015-18? years, Raccoon. BRP did not do clocks well. My ‘16 F3-L required constant adjustment;) Pete

2024 RT Ltd ticking noise - dealer can't hear it! Any ideas?

“Poofteenth of a millifluff”, Peter? :roflblack::roflblack:. Reminds me of the old joke about George W Bush….. “Mr President, 15 Brazilian soldiers have been killed in a peacekeeping mission”…….George W - “ wow, that’s a huge number….. exactly how many soldiers in a brazilian?” ;) :roflblack:

Recommend any place for Tire mounting in Dallas, Texas?

Obviously, I can’t suggest a place in Dallas from over here in Aus, but I would suggest buying your tyres from the tyre shop you intend to have mount them in future. If you support them, they will indeed support you, and not give you a hard time with questions like “what do you intend to mount...

Should there be a bolt thru these Empty holes?

It’s a new 2023, Ray. I would imagine that this is a dealer assembly failure. Unfortunately, Australia has its fair number of “less than exemplary” Spyder mechanics, just like the US has :cus: Pere Pete

Automatic suspension adjustment - "Manual" warning

As Mikey says, even though the manual refers to a Schraeder valve, several have reported no valve, LongIsland. Whether this occurs at manufacture or at dealer assembly, no one really knows. Regardless, if you do have an auto airbag and a Schraeder valve and add air, the airbag will simply...

Any Pics of 2020+ RT Daylong or Laam Driver's Seats?

Frogman, have a good think about having your OEM backrest recovered. It really does fit in OK with the Sunbrella insert as it matches the sides of the RDL. -

Vredestein tire sizes from their web site

I can’t fault my Kanine on the rear (I have Goodyears on the front). It is lasting well, and handles well. I would rather have an aftermarket on the rear, but the Kanine makes it so much easier when you don’t want to (or can’t) replace your rear tyre yourself. It has NO downsides for me. Pete

Must I Wait for the safety message to appear before hitting mode and starting?

As Ron says, just adapt to live with it, Dick. Switch your key on, then put on your helmet and gloves, and your RSS will be ready to go  Pete

2021 RTL going back for another warranty fix

That is plain frightening, blacklightning, since this is a known issue and has a BRP documented fix. You really do wonder about the competency of some dealerships. Hopefully they can fix it permanently this time. Pete

2020+ SEAT Strut issues - a different solution!

The are some pluses to a prop, Troop. It can just be a 5” Allen key out of a set that you carry with you that sits in your glove box. It is very easy to pop in to prop the seat after the first couple of times, and it opens the gap between the filler and the seat quite a bit, making it easier to...

After hearing so much hoopla, I finally tried Buc-ee's! Never Again!

Hahaha. I’ll see your pretentious American and raise you a pretentious Australian, LMFD. You don’t have a mortgage on THEM, either. :roflblack: In fact, on none of my visits over there have I come across any American who could be described as anything other than friendly and helpful (once they...

After hearing so much hoopla, I finally tried Buc-ee's! Never Again!

Not just the US, LMFD. It happens out here in OZ all the time too. You pull up behind an empty car at the pump because they are obviously inside paying for fuel, but they are in fact shopping. All I want is fuel so I can continue my journey. They are either too self-centred or too lazy to move...

Here's some Tips on Lifting the RT!

Cobranut, that’s fair comment for your particular model/year, but it must not be taken as a generality. Most other models do not have the cross beam beneath the shock, so you are jacking direct on the shock bolt. That’s why most BRP manuals say “do NOT place jack under the rear shock”. If you...

Would you try Taking Spyder through a car wash?

Real world experience shows different, Albec. Sure, I wouldn’t take my Spyder “through” a car wash, but I, and quite a few mates, use the full wash bays and cleaning chemicals, and have done for years with zero issues. Of course the pressure wands are used “judiciously” around electrical...

Best seats - are Russell Day Long seats REALLY that good?

Sometimes I wish they only had one option and color for their seats, troop. It would make the decision sooooooo much easier. The plus of course is that any of their colours and combinations work so whatever you select will perform ;) Good luck. Pete

Best seats - are Russell Day Long seats REALLY that good?

Sure, not everyone needs an aftermarket seat, Calismus. Some riders are just lucky or have an iron butt. ;) But that is a rather odd comment on a thread where riders are looking for a replacement seat because their stock seat is so uncomfortable for them. :dontknow: Pete

Best seats - are Russell Day Long seats REALLY that good?

Unfortunately, only YOU can decide which colour suits you, Troop. The only thing I can add is the the black Sunbrella on mine has not faded in the slightest after 3 years. Pete

    Review: Got 7 Jurock Touring Windscreen 2022 RT-L - I'm impressed!

Yep….yep…….yep…..mind you, 6’7” and 310lbs is a windsail anyway, Troop, so the large 7Jurock is probably helping fuel economy for me, not reducing it ;) Pete
