• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020+ SEAT Strut issues - a different solution!

Thanks PW, I think this what I'm looking for. I've been fussing around with this problem for a while now spending a few $ here and there and getting springs that don't work, and don't fit. Not spending $40 right now on a new strut, pulling off tupperware and up under the machine, maybe later...

Ridenow Powersports Jacksonville will not service - any bike shops that will?

Good information SpyderC. Here's the thing, some of us have reached that point in that it has become difficult to do the routine maintenance, you know, oil and filter change, even air in the rear tire. So the answer for some of us is the dreaded trip to the dealer and who knows if they are...

2020+ SEAT Strut issues - a different solution!

Well, I need to check this out since mine is a 2020 RTL. Shooter, can you be specific on the Amazon spring that fits, I did a search and couldn't find it.

Ridenow Powersports Jacksonville will not service - any bike shops that will?

I ride an hour to get to Sky Power, I like the writer there, but man, you need to check constantly if your Spyder is ready, or you will sit in the separate bldg motorcycle sales forever. Obviously, I just don't do dealers unless it's out of my realm of routine maintenance. They're such a hassle.

Thanks gentlemen, whoops, not sure how I missed that.

2020+ SEAT Strut issues - a different solution!

Danzguy, what Spyder do you have year, mod? I have a 2020 RTL, want to know if the springs you got from Amazon will fit my strut.

    Oil analysis @ 3 years & 9500 miles.

Right Bob, that was my interpretation, quite impressive. I do read the oil threads right on through the pop corn people.

HowTo: RT seat and trunk shock strut replacement

Safe Cracker, that spring idea sounds very interesting, can you be more specific, like spring size, how the install goes, maybe a pic? Thanks.

    Downshifting vs Braking

Ron, of the three weights, 5/40, 10/40, or 15/40, can you rate your first choice, or does it even matter?

    Downshifting vs Braking

Yo Mike, no war here, light on/off foot brake is my method of choice, unless of course conditions dictates differently. Nanny pretty much figures it all out for me and makes riding a real joy.

Need a Seat Strut with more lift - any suggestions?

Mikey, I've said more than once, I do love my 2020 RTL, but holy cow, you'd think that BRP would wake up and do this one little thing right and not inconvenience the customer. I do understand that BRP is big, way to big even have this on their radar.

Need a Seat Strut with more lift - any suggestions?

Sounds like my experience right down to the wood prop. The OEM was replaced by the dealer under warranty, the second one failed soon after replacement. I was not gonna waste another day at the dealer and have it fail too. Freaking stick works every time.

    998cc Anyone tried a 20-50 syn oil?

Good information Ron. If Canam is selling 5/40 blend, then I'm way good with Rotella Syn 5/40. I'm probably getting way nit picky with the oil thing anyway. I need to do my yearly change soon, so your oil change kit awaits, minus the oil of course. :-)

    998cc Anyone tried a 20-50 syn oil?

Following this thread, always find the oil threads fascinating, some use pop corn to indicate ho hum. I'm a Rotella full synthetic fan, however blend would probably work as well, but what's a buck or two between oils? I prefer the 10/40 full synthetic but Rotella just doesn't sell it, at least...

Anyone else dealing with this sort of Gas Mileage?

I'll keep that in mind, referring to your post #11.

Anyone else dealing with this sort of Gas Mileage?

I asked the question above about over filling, but reading yours, 'filling to the lip', answers my question. '

Anyone else dealing with this sort of Gas Mileage?

Is there a danger to over filling, say 'almost' to the cap?
