• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help! New owner/Spyder off but hear a faint continuous tone?

I think a good test would be for you to grab your polishing cleaner and cloth and come demonstrate exactly what you were doing at my house on my Spyder. I'm thinking with repeated tests here, we'll eventually figure it out! I use the 210 also ever since I bought my Tulsa windshield for my...

New to Spyder World - Looking for some advice

As far as steering is concerned, there's a reason it is different than your 2-wheeler. On 2 wheeler, you steer using a technique called 'counter steering'. That means to turn right, you actually nudge the handlebars slightly left to initiate a right hand lean, which then results in your right...

    Gloryder questions

I have them and like them. They do run through the batteries though. I have bought several sets over the years and would buy them again. I have upgraded a couple of times & now have custom caps on my RT, so will not upgrade again since the custom caps won't fit the newest housing. The old...

    Utopia vs BRP drivers backrest?

I have the very first Utopia backrest for the RT (2010). In early 2010 I shipped my saddle and passenger backrest to Bob @ Utopia and asked him to make one that would match the passenger backrest. He did a great job. We exchanged about 40 emails with pics and measurements and such, as I had...

New to Spyder World - Looking for some advice

The 998 V-Twin has some significant heat and range issues. The radiator is mounted just forward of your right leg and will blow hot air on your leg & into the body. The exhaust system also routes under the body panels and is another source of significant heat, enough to boil the gas in the...

Help! Stranded in Alabama with frozen ignition.

If they replaced the switch, did they have to give you new keys? If so, did they put matching locks in the rear trunk and RT-622 trailer?

    BRP 622 Trailer Internal Tiedowns

The BRP Cargo Net System Kit for the RT622 is pretty slick. It includes two rails that screw down on the bottom, left & right of the center line. These rails have places for connectors to attach to secure things to the floor of the trailer. It also comes with rings that attach to the lid...

Badboy horn/ Stereo plug? / VKEY

When I replaced the horn on my 2010 RT, I got tired of trying to place it in the same place as the old one (BIG HANDS, tight spot), so I abandoned that location altogether & zip-tied it in a spot behind the left headlight. Wires were easy to run to that place since I was adding a relay anyway.

    Pitbull Motorcycle Jack

The Pitbull lift has tie down points to secure your bike or Spyder. If used, it shouldn't be a problem. I have the foot pump style Pitbull, which I bought many years ago. Love it. I now also have a table lift (air), which does a great job too. Had to add 9" width to the 48" standard width...

    Another CB Question

The BRP CB antenna wiring harness comes with the BRP CB/Intercom. I believe the antenna mounting bracket also comes with the CB kit, so you will likely have no help there.

Has this happened to anyone, or not uncommon?

The only time mine did that was after I checked the coolant lever and failed to reinstall the cap properly. It finally boiled over after riding from Atlanta, GA to almost Raton, NM. It puke a little the last two fuel stops, so I bought some 50/50 pre-mix, so when it boiled over I was prepared...

Is the rear tire an automobile tire?

Since the Spyder doesn't lean, a flat tread design, like found on a car, is what it needs. I replaced my rear OEM tire with a Michelin HydroEdge (no longer available) & the fronts with Michelin Defenders (HydroEdge replacement). These were less expensive than replacement OEM tires, better...

    2016 RT rumor

I talked to a BRP designer at Daytona last year and told him what I thought BRP needed to do with the RT to get it in better competition with the Harley & Goldwing bikes. It centered around the audio system, as it is years behind their competitors. I am hoping I planted a seed that will bear...

    grill and block off plate

Just a reminder, BRP has started a recall program on the 2013 RT to address the heat issue. I have no idea if it'll work, but you might give it a chance before spending your own good money on trying other options. I have seen the recall instructions, some 30 pages worth & it includes adding...
