• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    998cc 2011 RS-S SE5 - DPS fault - is it stealing the power?

........ and if it has been done, it may need a new DSP unit from what others has experienced with similar symptoms.

Anyone else had problems with Fuel in oil? Ideas?

I wouldn't rely on my nose to identify fuel in oil. Either have a sample tested or put fresh oil in and keep a close check on the level over a few weeks. Take the guesswork out of it - but that's just me.

Will Charging the Camper's Battery off my Spyder overload the Alternator

Does this model have a VVA as referenced by BR in reply 15? Interesting info I have just learned of. :2thumbs: A Variable Voltage Alternator (VVA) monitors vehicle loads and driving conditions. The vehicle ECU varies the output of the alternator based on these conditions. The voltage range...

Will Charging the Camper's Battery off my Spyder overload the Alternator

Excellent! An automotive alternator works at maximum capacity anyway, when the unusable part to the AC goes to earth via the rectifier/regulator. That's why they run hot. Charging 2 batteries connected in parallel, as yours would be, can be troublesome due to current flowing (charging) going...

Where is the ECU on a 2008 Spyder GS? Any hints on how to remove it?

At the end of the big Engine harness, below the dash console I think. https://www.ktmhobart.com.au/partFinder/fiche/canam/2009/spyder-gs-roadster-with-sm5-transmission/engine-harness#next

Which belt guard is more important - top, or both?

I think it's a Kumho at present. I've had a few brands on it and run it at 18psi for very even wear.

Which belt guard is more important - top, or both?

A 205/55-15 solves that problem and is a better fit on the rim.

    Spyder RS-S 2011 SE5 - Low Voltage battery - any ideas/suggestions?

Good - now do some more checking with a multimeter. Good luck with it.

2014 Spyder broken oil pump gear - separate issue, or just a defect?

It's happened to a very small number of 990 engines. Cause - plastic gear.

First Service & Dealer says Stripped out drain plug! New dealer time!

The other complication with the trans drain plug is that you cannot get a straight go at it without removing the brake linkage bolt/nut as it's inserted from the wrong side of the mechanism whereby the nut is in almost directly under the plug. No wonder it got stripped - the poorly trained...

    Spyder RS-S 2011 SE5 - Low Voltage battery - any ideas/suggestions?

There is a 50amp fuse in the charging circuit under the seat. Have you checked it?

First Service & Dealer says Stripped out drain plug! New dealer time!

It is dumb of BRP to have the trans drain plug with 6mm hex and eng drain plug with 45 Torx plug. :banghead:

First Service & Dealer says Stripped out drain plug! New dealer time!

I doubt the steel plug would be stripped - more likely the aluminium housing it screws into.

    Spyder RS-S 2011 SE5 - Low Voltage battery - any ideas/suggestions?

That's most unfortunate. Have you checked and cleaned earth cables and wires as previously suggested? And redo the test procedures.

What wires go where in the BUDS Connector?

Your illustration is correct when viewed from rear / wire entry side of plug.

What wires go where in the BUDS Connector?

Is that what's wanted? (dunno why it's done 2 of each, but what the heck.)
