• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Harley-Davidson CEO Resigns

I owned HD's from the 90s until about a year ago. The quality of their bikes improved across the years in my experience. I didn't have trouble with my Sportster, Lowrider or Ultra Classic. After a motorcycle accident took away some of my leg strength, the weight of the Ultra became too iffy...

Replace old parts or buy new?

With that kind of background, with tools, you should be able to do most Spyder maintenance on your own ... at very reasonable cost. There are many RS/GS videos online that cover most things: oil changes, tire changes, spark and air filter changes, sway bars, etc. and etc. There are also good...

Replace old parts or buy new?

17000 miles is just getting started on a Spyder. How many miles have people rolled onto GS or RS models before they were at the end?

    Helmet Recommendations

I also have applied the WeePro antifog shield to my helmet's visor and it has done a really good job of keeping it from fogging. So for a solution for awhile, without breaking the bank, its a good value. It can be your transition to a better helmet when you find the "one" at a good sale price...

    Heated Gear Question

I have a Tourmaster heated 12v vest. It has a rheostat for great variation of heating needs. I have appreciated it on cool late spring/early summer rides up in Canada. This year, if the weather cooperates, we'll be heading for the Ozarks... but if the weather doesn't cooperate during the...

    Marketing failure

I also agree that BRP is not very adept at a great deal of things. They not only don't promote their Spyder line well, they are good at establishing a real lack of trust in their dealerships. They don't run a very tight ship as to quality of support. These kind of issues leave a lot of bad...

I got my NEW motorless Spyder

Keep healing and enjoy your Ryker glider machine :)

    Sena intercom problems

Hope you get it resolved. I haven't had any issues with the SMH10 as referred to in one of the posts. It has worked flawlessly on tours with friends. The battery life has been great... even 4 years in. I have not tried to stream music, however, to another helmet.

What about what you don't you like about the Spyder?

I have an older '10 RS, built before BRP refined things more and more. Still... it is a fun ride after years on Harley and Honda 2 wheelers. Took a 3k tour this early summer and the Spyder ran great and the owner smiled a lot in the wind. Every machine can be improved as the years of...

    Winter Ryker

Here in Wisconsin there are too many hazards to venture out for me. Besides snow, there is ice where you are not suspecting in shady places and also black ice at times that you don't pick up on until your in it. If we are invisible in good weather, how much more do we disappear when people are...

    2009 GS SE5 regular maintenance?

I haven't flushed mine yet... I have a 2010 rs. People say to not drain the radiator by the plug... as they are prone to strip/break and make a new radiator necessary. Either drain via the hose connection or what was suggested to me ... take some little by little from the reservoir after...

    I know its me but......

I agree with what everyone has said. Keep at it... it will come. You are rewiring your brain from your two wheel experience to three wheels. They are they same and yet different and that's what is so perplexing at first. You are building a new skill set, reprogramming muscle memory and...

    Touring pants

Always gear up when I ride... so I don't have to wonder "what if?", had I been dressed for success in the event of a mishap. Cortech textile pants with armor... mesh in summertime (with rain barrier) and non-mesh (with rain barrier) for cooler seasons, so I don't have to re-gear for rain. I...

Motorcycle accidents - Why we're not always seen

For the very reasons you stated, never feel you have made "eye contact" with anyone. Even when you feel you have, people act like they didn't know you were there. Always ride like no one sees you and leave yourself as many outs as you can. Make yourself visible, but ride like you are always...

    Oil Drain Plug Removal

Glad you got it out... I had the struggle with both the oil tank bolt and engine oil drain bolts. Luckily for me, with endurance, patience and my Christianity severely tested (I'm a pastor), I got them both out without stripping the threads. Both have been replaced with regular head and better...

This is Albania... nope, not Alabama, Albania with F3s 🤟

Thanks for the videos. The scenery is beautiful. Glad you are having a fun and safe journey. My trivial knowledge of Albania is that its largest export product is chrome. That's all I have! :) Will continue enjoying your videos!

    Wrong oil???

Didn't someone say that BRP branded oil is now SM, but the company says their formulation is safe to use... but others not? Seems there was a discussion on this a little while ago with the BRP oil change kits. Or... maybe my memory is really fogged.

    What to ask$$$

Keep in mind also that with the introduction of the Ryker and the lowering of other spyder models retail purchase last year... the market for a used spyder of any model has fallen. I believe this year, only a few months after my purchase from a private seller, I could have found the same Spyder...

    Oil in 998cc air box

I run my oil at half way up the dipstick. Full or near full can contribute to the problem. I heard that too, Peter. Good info.
