• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A fun time installing my BajaRon sway bar and links

Well, I did use my tailgate ramps, but not like that. The red ramps give me 8" of lift, which is enough.

All farkles on hold for a while...

Yup, can't spend money on farkles because I got laid off this past Wednesday. I've already got some job leads, so hopefully this will be a short term temporary condition. At least I have lots of materials that were purchased long ago for projects that I started but didn't finish, like...

A fun time installing my BajaRon sway bar and links

I just rolled up on my tire ramps. They kept wanting to scoot away, but some heavy scrap metal took care of that.

I really want to like this bike...

Oops- snapped a bolt! I got the Spyder up on ramps and checked the swaybar bolts. The right side snugged down about 1/2 turn on each bolt. Nice and tight now. The bottom bolt on the left side, however, turned about 3/4 turn, and then snapped. I was using two combo wrenches, not a ratchet or...

I really want to like this bike...

Nah, I put aluminum links in. I think I didn't get it tight enough to start with and now it's popping back and forth on the bolt.

I really want to like this bike...

I really like this bike! 2K miles have gone under the tires, the needed repairs and BRP alignment have been done, and now my RT and I are getting to be friends. I went on a 150 mile ride on some of San Diego County's twistiest roads this weekend, and was able to keep up with the group. There...

    Hot or burning....

Sometimes I get a burning smell in the morning, which lets me know that there's another rat's nest that will be impossible to clean out. Nasty little vermin.

    Fresh Cab Rodent Repellent

I found a rat's nest made of pine needles under the tupperware next to the handlebars this morning. I've been locking the handlebar to the side at night, and it leaves a small gap that is just so inviting for a rodent to set up housekeeping in.

    Are You, One of "Them"?

Not saying. Everyone has their personal "code of conduct". I have two rules in mine that I try to observe without fail: Never sit with your back to the door. Never allow your name to come to the attention of the authorities. Posting firearms ownership status on an open forum breaks both of them!

    Rain! Finally.

It started raining in San Diego County yesterday after many months of drought. The roads are amazingly slick, which has caused traffic to slow way down.I ordered a set of Frogg Toggs for the next time, but today my Spyder remains in the Bike Barn.

    "Gliding into the groove" sensation

Yep- Kendas all around. Nearly new, in fact.

    "Gliding into the groove" sensation

I think you nailed it. The bike seems to snap into line at the tangency of the curve.

    "Gliding into the groove" sensation

I've put about 2,000 miles on my Spyder, and we're fast becoming friends. I take the twisties at the same speed that I drive them in my truck, and I'm able to relax and enjoy ryding instead of my initial white-knuckled OMGthisthingwantstokillme trips. I have a question, though. Lately, as I...

    air scoops kit

How much paint to buy? Wow! This stuff ain't cheap! For two scoops, is the Aerosol Complete Repair Package plus a can of base color enough? That's $114 already, and I don't want to get caught short so I'll buy more if I have to. Any extra I can use later.

    air scoops kit

Where can I get color-matched paint? Do the dealers stock touch-up paint, or is it a special order item? Painting the scoops makes a huge difference. Black ABS stuck on top of pearl white doesn't quite cut it, and I want to paint mine.

    One picture says it all....

I love wiener dogs. We had a mini Dachshund named Ollie, and now we have a rescue Chiweenie named Dobby. I would really like to get another Dachshund puppy again someday. Their little paws and puppy breath just melt my heart.

    Brakes pulsing

Follow-up on brake job First, the tabs on the pads go DOWN! Amazing how things fit better when they are put together properly. In this case, it was the left side, and I caught it before I took the bike for a test, so no harm. Everything is so much smoother now. There is no pulsing, and now...

    Anyone here fly Drones?

RCGroups.com is the largest RC community around. Tons of information in there. FliteTest.com is another good resource. I have built a number of multi-rotors. They are lots of fun, but please fly safely. I urge you to join the Academy of Model Aeronautics at www.modelaircraft.org. The $2.5...

    drive belt now centerd

I'm thinking that smacking the end caps with a small (1lb) deadblow mallet several times during the tightening process would keep the wheel in place as well. I have a 36mm crowfoot on order. My socket is just a tad shallow, and I don't get full engagement on the nut. It tends to hurt my body if...

SpyderQuest 2016- Drone view: Parade of Spyders to Closing Ceremony.....

Is there an FAA or AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) number anywhere? I'm sure the owner would like to get it back; once a multi-rotor flies away, there is no way of knowing which way it went and how far, so he (or she) probably looked and looked for it with almost zero chance of finding it. If...
