• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 RT swaybar installed, possible oil leak found

It might be just a sloppy fill. I recently did my first servicing on my 2020RT. (The dealer did the first one.) I've found the new panels and brake master cylinder reservoir location to be a negative. It's easier to get to, but it's harder to service cleanly, IMO.

What type of coolant should I use?

Topping off with any commercial coolant that is rated for all types is good. Color is a guide, but not a good one because different manufacturers dye their coolant different colors. Dexcool (GM) is the odd man out in the coolant world, and NOT to be used in a Spyder. If you want more you...

    Wide Vu Mirrors Upgrade

I had these on my 2014RT and was super pleased with them, so I bought a set for my 2020RT. Again, super pleased with the results. No negative issues for me, only positive so far. Honestly, these are the mirror lens that should come from the factory.

Need correct sized Fuel filter clamp?

When I did it on my old 2014 and on my 2008 GS I just went to the auto parts store and bought a variety pack of fuel injector rated clamps for less than $5. Sorry to say that I don't remember the exact size that worked within the package, but you can do the same for roughly the same money. It...

Any pics of/comments on Lamonster Garage Handlebar Risers on RT 2020?

I have the Lamonster riser on my 2020 and do recommend it. Very well made and looks completely stock. In fact, if you didn't know it was there you wouldn't even notice it. I tried the Rox risers first and didn't really care for them. They just didn't look right and I did have concerns...

    28k miles service

The pre canister that sits to the rear of the bike that people are referring to is just an vent air filter in a square plastic housing. The book says to replace it, but in reality it can be opened up (by way of screws) and cleaned and reinstalled for no cost. When I replaced mine on my 2014 at...

CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK when decelerating - Now what!?

I wouldn't use assembly lube. I would suggest instead using a Moly paste. They are designed so that the carrier evaporates and it leaves behind the moly lubricant.

    Sad day.

The "weakness" in the bent frame is referring to the fact that BRP uses an enclosed box frame and if bent they usually fold at the point of the bend. If there is any type of folding deformation, then the frame is junk. Technically, the only way it can be salvaged is to cut out the fold and...

    Sad day.

I'd give Lamont (Lamonster, the site owner) a call and inquire with him. He's in Missouri, not too far from you. He should be able to help with either physical assistance or just guidance. He a great guy and super knowledgeable. As to the 'ol eyeball method of frame checking. Yeah, no. As...

    Sad day.

I agree with several of the expressed opinions that this accident doesn't really appear to be enough to bend the frame. It could have, mind you, but I'm skeptical. I also agree about another opinion before it junked since you're so attached to it. It could just be a case of improper repair...

2008 Spyder GS (RS) | Fire Damage

Since the engine was originally used in the Aprilia line up, have you expanded your search parameters? I don't know about UTV's or any other usage. Just a thought.

    2nd Class Owner

They're a great ride. I sometimes miss my old 08 with the twin engine. Anyway, make doubly sure you read up on the heat issues, specifically the boiling gas. Fixes are fairly easy to do and IMO a must for all older bikes.

    Communication

Sena. ;) I did the wired walkie talkie thing many years ago and it was good for the time, but the new wireless tech is way better. However, CB is something I've never warmed up to and didn't do so if you're wanting to stay in the CB range someone else might have specific knowledge.
