• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RS oil consumption on hard driving

My 2012 RS used about 1 quart between 4600 miles oil changes till about 18000 miles or so. Now it hardly uses any oil...maybe 1/4-1/2 quart between 4600 mile changes. I typically run in the 5500-7000 RPM range.

Could I be the 1st? CVT Belt Replacement

Yeah, takes a while to dig down to the clutch area. I tried to find the youtube video that talks about raising the the seat frame, gas tank, etc area (that whole area lifts up to access the clutch area) but I couldn't find it. I assume that's the biggest PITA with the belt change? That and...

Could I be the 1st? CVT Belt Replacement

Actually changing the belt is a piece of cake, 5 minute job. Getting to the belt will be more time consuming. The seat mount needs to be raised, a bit of a job from what the youtube videos show. The clutch cover needs to be removed...... Just a bunch of bolts...easy enough.

Can-Am Rentals - What would you rent?

If the person renting owns a spyder then my guess is they will rent an F3. If they have never ridden a spyder they will go with the ryker option.....its cheaper.

Ryker 600 vs 900 for commuter?

Other than changing the belt there is little to no maintenance for the CVT.

    2020 Ryker Accessories

Some new 2020 Ryker accessories shown here. I REALLY wish they had different wheel options for the Rally. Maybe next year when the offer the 900 Turbo. :) https://can-am.brp.com/content/dam/canam-spyder/Global/MY2020/Documents/Catalogs/MY20-can-am-on-road-catalogue-us-final.pdf

If they have a 100 mile range and cost close to $30K then my guess is they will never see the light of day.

    Americans retiring broke

401K's are voluntary not mandatory. Lots of employers don't even offer them and if they do the match they give varies. So, yes we do have something similar to what you suggest in the USA but lots of people don't take full advantage of them and I would bet the most commonly given reason why...

    Americans retiring broke

This doesn't surprise me. Most people I know in their 40's have financed themselves to death with houses, cars, "toys", vacations, weddings, school loans, etc. They live paycheck to paycheck and are on the verge of collapse without a paycheck or two. I'd say this is the norm for people my...

Ryker 600 vs 900 for commuter?

The 600 I don't know for sure but someone on another forum said 94mph was the top speed of the 600. Top speed on the 900 is about 108. The 900 has no problem running in the 75-85mph range. Not sure about the 600. I would guess if 94 is top speed then you'd feel the power fall off between 80-85?

Ryker 600 vs 900 for commuter?

I'm sure it will. The 600 will just not be as quick as the 900 or have the same top speed as the 900.
