• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what kind of music do you like?

My main likes are mid-‘50’s to late-‘70’s Country, ‘80’s and early-‘90’s “Hair” bands, and late-‘90’s and up Gospel quartets. On Sirius XM Bluetoothed into my helmet, that would be Willie’s Roadhouse, Hair Nation, and enLighten.

Love my wife's, but now I've bought my own!

Same happened here. She brought home a used ‘15 F3-S, and 3 months later I picked up a “new”, untitled, 5-year-old ‘17 F3-S Daytona. Love ‘em, so far. Enjoy yours!!

Shout out to Team Mancuso Powersports North, Houston, Tx

Good to know about Mancuso. Have been to their North location, back when we were just looking into the Spyder, and was not impressed at all with the staff in the showroom. And, yeah, Full Throttle just seemed to want to SELL you something. Glad to know you had a good experience out back when you...

Check out the F-3 at 122 mph!

Meh ... why the big track? It’ll do ~102mph in 1/4 mile !!!

    Happy Birthday

Had my “special day” yesterday. Spending today driving 610 miles to pick up a new ‘22 F-150 farm truck. Long way to go, but saving $8K to $10K is worth the 8hr drive!

    Hit a Buck last night...

Dang!!! Glad you came out unscathed, and the trike needing only minor repairs. Brought back memories of me hitting a 8-point whitetail deer at 55mph on my Honda Magna. Tumbling down asphalt is NOT part of what I consider a stellar day! This event might (should) change how you scan while...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

Not sure at end of 1/8-mile, as I’m a little preoccupied trying to keep the bike in the middle of the lane, keep my body tucked down, and hit my shift points. But I would bet I was already in 4th at the 1/8-mile mark, and definitely at the top of 5th at the finish. Oh - and, years ago, got my...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

Best I remember, I was over 6500 rpm in 5th at the finish line. Did not speed shift it w/out clutch. Just using a quick clutch and partial letup on the throttle. Same as I have done it on my VMaxes, the CTX, and the Magna.

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

Well, decided that “on my way out” I’d run one last time. About 40 min after previous run. Good launch, everything felt great. Got to the timing booth and ... they ran out of paper in the printer! And, since another vehicle ran right after I did, my times had been cleared and had no way of...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

Third pass, 44 min later: ran 13.527 sec @ 101.99 mph. My 60’ was 2.324 sec, 1/8-mile 8.751 sec @ 84.27 mph. Slipped the clutch wayyyyy too much in first ... but it did keep it from hazing the tire! Came right back around and ran again 10 min later: ran 13.582 mph @ 100.70 mph. My 60’ was...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

2nd pass, 35min later: 13.398 sec @ 101.47 mph. 60’ was 2.109 sec, 1/8-mile 8.590 sec @ 83.38 mph. Hazed the tire a bit at the top of 1st and into 2nd, and am trying to shift right about 7,000rpm. Thought about leaving traction control on, but I don’t think it’ll be faster if it pulls down...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

Let it cool down about 40 minutes, then put it on the line. SM6 manual transmission, ran with traction control off. Quite pleased with the first run. Babied it off the line a little too much, and spun a bit in 2nd. Ran 13.534 sec @ 100.11 mph. My 60-foot time was 2.241 sec, and 1/8-mile was...

F3-S Daytona at the drag strip tonight - original March '23; update June '25

Found myself at a car dealership late this afternoon, and remembered that our local drag strip is open Friday nights for 1/4-mile test-and-tune, so .... Just got teched in. My Daytona is all stock, except for the tires and Route 129 windscreen. Rolled 4001 miles on the odometer when I entered...

    Fed up with Can-Am service!

Have refrained from telling my experience, but will share it here now. We have a ‘15 and a ‘17 F3-S, both needing recall done. Had stopped by the shop (45 miles away) while on a ride to have them look at a few things, as my ‘17 is still under 2-yr basic warranty. The answers to my few questions...

What bike did you ride to get your motorcycle license ??

In 1990. Bought a used ‘86 Yamaha VMX12 ‘Vmax’ from a friend for cheap - as partial payment for me putting him up in my home for a few months. Was my first street bike. Biggest bike I had owned previous was a Yamaha YZ250, and had ridden a Kawasaki 440LTD about 6 miles once. Anyway, riding test...

Is Blue Ridge or Route 129 w/screen h/ware available separately?

Don’t have my assembly instructions in front of me but, IIRC, the main 3 mounting brackets only come with the R129 or BR kits.

Doing my first Iron Butt tonight!

Good on you blacklightning for getting it done! I’m sure you learned a lot about how you could do the next one better. Did all my IBA rides on my Honda CTX1300. My first was a SaddleSore1000, totaling 1,095 miles in 20hr 47min with 11 stops. A little rain, good roads, but lots of rural stuff...

Doing my first Iron Butt tonight!

The biggest help for a successful SS1000 should be done at home ... in your easy chair. PLAN EVERYTHING OUT. If you KNOW you can go, say, 175 miles per tank at a given speed (figure in a headwind, as well), then sit down with Google maps and find fuel stations at the 160 to 175 mile point...

Any recommendations for Spyder hauling Trailer rentals?

A UHaul 6’x12’ enclosed will work - but ONLY if it’s the swing-open door (NOT the roll-up door). Will have to take/get ramps to load it. My wife hauled hers over 550 miles like that. No problems.

Would you buy a Chinese motorycle?

Have spent the last two days researching a 2020 SSR Motorsport (BSA) enduro/motorcross bike, the SR300S. Looks to be a VERY good copy of (mostly) Honda CRF parts, with a very common Chinese engine that is proving to be very reliable. Might be in my future ...
