• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    48000 miles so far

Wow, that's impressive. I thought I was doing pretty good at riding my 2022 S2S with a little over 4,500 miles but you put me to shame. Either you have taken several really long rides or you ride it every day. All I know is that I'm sure glad I bought the Spyder and gave up my two wheel ways...

New to me - which Spyder?

Your price point may be a tad too low. I would second the comments of other posters suggesting that you stay in years that have the 1330 engine. After that then the question is do you want an RT or an F3. I rode a bike similar to your BMW (R1200RT) in that it had a seating position with your...

Anyone tried the Hornet Electric Deer Whistle?

I was specifically inquiring about the Hornet electric deer whistle which is powered by 12 volt off the vehicle. They "supposedly" are more effective than the $3.95 air powered models. For $150 I was curious if anyone had information about them. The air powered models are a waste of time and...

Anyone tried the Hornet Electric Deer Whistle?

Does anyone have experience with the Hornet electric Deer whistle? It has been so hot that I am about to abandon my resolve not to ride after dark but don't want to mate my S2S with a Whitetail. Just curious if there is any real life experience with the powered whistles?

    We Got Hats!

I am a Baja Ron Sway Bar advocate and in fact have installed one on every Spyder I have owned including my current 2022 Sea to Sky. I had the dealer install the new three piece bar on the S2S before taking delivery. So my question is how can I purchase one of your hats?

Planning a Trip to the Ozark Mountains - any advice?

I don't claim to be an expert on Arkansas but have been going there twice a year for 30+ years and still learning. Someone else suggested staying in Harrison and that is probably a good suggestion. I usually stay at Harrison in the fall and Eureka Springs in the the Spring. Highway 7 South out...

Is it normal for 2011 RT to have very touchy steering at speed?

I haven't ridden your bike so I will not endeavor to tell you how to ride it. I will say that I moved to a 2019 Spyder RTL after 60 years of riding 2 wheels. I hated it for the same reason you described. Thought the bike was twitchy and couldn't stand it. Installed a Baja Ron Sway bar, had the...

Front storage USB port not charging quickly enough - any ideas?

I have had the same experience. My phone is an I11. It helped some to get a usb connector that did not transmit data also but still need to be sure that I have a full charge on phone at beginning of day. The output on the connector on the bike must be limited. I checked with the dealership to...

What the heck is going on with my '22 RTL Gutless wonder? Anyone?

Grasping at straws since I wasn't there at the time, I wonder if you were riding with cruise control on and set when you started to pass. I have noticed that if I have cruise set and don't cancel it when I accelerate that the wireless throttle really mutes the acceleration of the bike...

I have spotted a 2020 RT LTD that might suit me - what do you think?

I switched from a 2019 RTL(old style) to a 2022 RTL(new style) 9 months ago. More room than the 2019, superior handling and cornering. Love it. If the 2020 is priced right and has been taken care of buy it you won't regret it. I don't understand why they handle so differently but the new body...

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Just a thought to consider. When I wrecked my BMW 1200 RT three years ago. I was wearing a quality helmet, textile jacket with armor and leather chaps. Helmet looked like the OP's helmet but I had no head injuries of any kind. No injuries on upper torso, other that five broken ribs, where...

RT seems better suited for seniors

I may have the age prize won as I am 81 years old. I just switched from a very aggressive sport touring bike(Kawasaki Concour 1400) in January 2021 after being released from the hospital for Covid in December 2020. I lost so much leg strength from Covid hat I could not handle the top heavy sport...

My first ride in the rain

I think that anxiety arising from riding in the rain is partially self inflicted but not entirely. I have been riding two wheels for 60+ years and only recently Spyders. Last fall I was trapped in a ride that I had to complete in relatively heavy rain while riding my RTL. I was surprised how...

How to ride to break in a new F3L

Brand new 2022 Sea to Sky. First 500 miles I rode conservatively, never running at high rpm's and varying speed as I drove. After that rode it like a rented mule but never quite to red line as far as rpm's is concerned. At 5000 miles now and everything is fine. I have conducted break in on the...

Its hard to get off 2 two wheels and onto three.

I rode on two wheels for the better part of 60 years. (I'm 81 years old) Two years ago I caught Covid and was in the hospital for five days. When I was discharged I had lost much of my leg strength and could not handle the top heavy Kawasaki Concour 1400 that was my ride. Loved that bike and...

2022 Comfort Seat isn't! Any more comfortable suggestions?

I have a 2022 Sea to Sky which came with the heated comfort seat as standard. I previously had a 2019 RTL that I had an Ultimate seat installed. I could do 1000 mile days with the 2019. Took my first long ride on the 2022 this past week, 1400 miles in five days. From my rears perspective the...

Where do you carry your Spare key?

So does anyone else take a spare key on a long trip. I have two factory supplied keys but am always afraid I will lose the main key I use in the ignition so I like to carry the spare. Problem is where do I hide it that I don't need a key to open up and get access? You can see from my signature...

What's causing this Wobble while braking?

I had a 2019 RTL for 30,000 miles and now a 2022 Sea to Sky for 5000 miles and have never experienced what you are describing. I would check the front lug nuts and torque them to spec and if that is not the problem get it back to the dealer asap. A properly aligned Spyder with evenly inflated...

Those of you that Concealed Carry on your Spyder, what type of holster do you use?

Just my poor typing skills. Meant SOB not SOS. Small of Back. Sorry.

Those of you that Concealed Carry on your Spyder, what type of holster do you use?

Society is so screwed up right now, I don't know where you could assume you were safe and need not carry a weapon. I am an Elder of an old line conservative church and we have discussed multiple times the risk that some shooter might invade a Service and what we should do to protect the...
