• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rear Fender Removal

If I recall correctly, there are two small studs that are attached to the back of the license plate unit. removing those two small nuts should allow it to come free. I also recollect that the wiring harness for the license plate light is very short and does not give you much room to splice in...

    Rear Fender Removal

I am looking at my ST right now. There are 4 bolts on the fender itself. 2 more on the license plate bracket and two more behind the tail reflector assembly. I recall the job being a PITA.

    My Spyder hauler

I did some more extensive testing today weighing and moving things around a bit. I was able to move the bike back on the trailer 8-1/2inches from its original position without any risk to the rear coming into contact with the closed tailgate. I successfully lowered the tongue weight by about...

    My Spyder hauler

I probably already know the answer to this question, however, here goes. If one removed the Spyder’s windshield and loaded it into the trailer rear first, what would be the most serious side effects of such a stunt? The reason for this question is that, after having arrived in FL yesterday, I...

    Unknown Rocker Switch Terminal Connector

Before I installed my heated grips, I had previously and successfully used the wire harness in the nbr 2 position to power a USB and 12 volt accessory port. I have since moved them to the nbr 4 connector, which powers the fog lights, since the power draw of the USB/12 volt port is so tiny that...

Anyone Here Also Ride a Maxi-Scooter?

Had a 650.....loved it until the accident.

Yes, same info here. Too much up and down shifting between 5 and 6.

    My Spyder hauler

Not bad so far. I am used to my older F350 with the V10 engine and 4.30 rear axle which could tow anything without breaking a sweat. The new Tacoma does well so far except for a little more downshifting on the uphill grades which is to be expected. Going to FL next week to visit my parents and...

    My Spyder hauler

No real details on the ramps construction. As a woodworker and handy with tools, I threw them together in about and hour. Sanding, painting, and water-sealing them took longer.

    My Spyder hauler

Bought the Bri-Mar trailer new at $1300. The box up front holds trailer chocks, tie-downs, jacks and other misc junk. The ramps get put into the bed of the truck when traveling.

As long as you have the V6....wouldn’t try it with the 4.

    My Spyder hauler

It does well. Used it 3 times in 18 months to round trip to Florida and back and towed, loaded, and unloaded well. Getting ready to leave next week for FL to deal with some parental medical issues and will be taking it again. Probably be down there a month or more.

    My Spyder hauler

Just a few pics to show my trailer set-up for hauling the Spyder. Just a regular 6x10 landscape trailer with a standard 4 foot gate. Of course, the 4 foot gate and its angle did pose a problem for the Spyder to navigate. Using some scrap plywood and 2x8 boards, I made these simple ramps which...

    Oetiker Clamps

Take them all off and throw them away.....they leak like crazy and I have already replaced most of them with regular screw-type clamps.

Another zinger for the Spyder engineers......

I tried so many ways I can’t remember all of them. The most difficult part was trying to get them back into the holes to tighten them back up. My fat fingers keep losing grip on the Allen wrench and then it and the bolt would start falling out. Almost had 2 disappear into the dark depths of the...

Another zinger for the Spyder engineers......

So, Last week, I finally installed my BRP heated grips onto the bike since I was doing some other wiring mods inside the guts. All was crystal clear and easy except the part where you had to remove the 4 little allen head screws from the bottom of the handle bar covers. Not really mentioned in...

Nannie got me real good yesterday

The "total" stop only seemed like a very fast and split second. Since my hand was still slightly partially on the throttle, the bike picked right back up. i think I was was just being a little overly reactive because of some tailgater and Harley behind him that I had passed about ten miles...

Nannie got me real good yesterday

By now, I am used to Nannie kicking in here and there in small reminders whenever I get a little stupid. Yesterday I was making a right hand turn a bit more than extreme than usual. All three tires went into a split-second skid, then a solid stop. I even thought the engine had stalled but it...
