• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you ride most often?

Most of my riding is solo. I rarely ride with a group but at Spyders in the Redwoods I enjoy the group rides. My wife enjoys riding but requires a destination. Myself, I will just hop on and see where I end up. Sometimes it is just a pleasure cruise, others it is to ride like the devil to clear...

    YE OLDE MERRIE ENGLANDE!!

OJ, thanks for the pictures and background info. I really enjoy hearing this kind of stuff and seeing the history you live around. Maybe one day I will make it across the pond but there is still a lot of the USA I would like to see. Maybe we will meet at Spyderfest one of these days. I'll gladly...

    Lazer Alignment?

Ann and Joe from Squared Away are great about traveling. I know they plan to be at Spyders in the Redwoods in August. They just left for Alaska the other day so it may take them a while to reply. I am going to have them do my F3 at Redwoods. They did my GS a year or two back and changed my...

New spyder , but a question

I upgraded the rear shock to the Fox Podium. Once I got the preload set and stiffened up the front a bit I can now go two up with the wife or grandson (he goes a little over 200 lbs.) and really ride hard with no bottom out or roll in the twisties. Made a big difference to upgrade the rear.

Passenger seat question - easy one!

Its normal. There is only one post locking it in.

Has this happened to anyone, or not uncommon?

Take a real good look at your coolant tank. Mine split due to heat on the GS. Was at a Harley event and had to be towed away. Now that sucks.

    my girlfriend's first ride

I finally broke down and gave into my granddaughter's pleas. She went for her first Spyder ride this morning. She is old enough to have been hounding me for 2 years to take her for a ride. Grandma, Dad and I talked about it a little bit and we decided a short ride through the neighborhood would...

Looking for Info about Givi wingracks

I have some questions about the Givi Wingrack and mounting the Givi sidebags on the F3. I think one of you guys posted a picture of the Wingrack without the sidebag mounted. I have been trying to find that thread and none of my searches have triggered it for me. If it is not too big of a pain...

    BRP @ major motorcycle events

Wow, I used to live on Champion Rd off of HWY 58 back in 1974 & 1975. Don't remember any motorcycle shops but my friend used to work at a Goodyear Tire store on HWY 58. Haven't been back. Maybe I need to take a ride to Tenn. and see how it has changed.

    New parts installed

I might be able to pull that off. We'll see. Ok, let me start with this. I don't do much video, 1. I hope this works 2. I hope this don't stink too much... https://www.facebook.com/hawk3iii/videos/vb.1747081065/10200775216179882/?type=2&theater

    New parts installed

With the bypass, about 3500 RPMs it begins to growl. As you reach 4000 you begin to hear the roar and as it climbs from there I can' find any weak spots. Feels real strong through the gears. I only have one short ride in with the bypass installed, but I made it work while I was out. I still need...

    New parts installed

Chupaca, looking forward to meeting you at SITR. I enjoy your posts. Now, with a little luck here are some pics and some info on the parts. Here is what she looks like in solo mode, the bypass, bypass vs CAT, bypass to stock muff and the shock. More pics to follow a little later.

    New parts installed

I installed Lamont's CAT bypass and the upgraded Fox rear shock today. The CAT bypass went on without a hitch. Lamont did a real nice job on this thing. The weight difference between the CAT and the performance pipe is amazing. I think the F3 lost at least about 13 pounds with this change. The...

    Cross Country Saddlebag delay

Shopatron I'll say this. Everything I have ordered from Shopatron since buying the F3 has arrived within one or two days. I would use them. Picked up the F3 March 17 and did not receive the bags from the dealer until May.
